Konecranes has nearly 40 years of experience in designing, manufacturing and delivery of Ship-to-Shore Container Cranes - even with most demanding customer requirements. We have always been known for the excellent crane design, inhouse manufactured key components, high quality manufacturing and committed customer care. Our cranes are essential part of our customers' operation in different parts of the world.
Konecranes is technology forerunner in crane applications. The new improved version of the Ship-to-Shore Crane, the BoxHunter, is no exception. With the latest technology and a new innovative design superior performance is ensured. The handling equipment comes complete with Konecranes' AC drives, Active Anti Sway Control and Horizontal Fine Positioning Systems.
Together these features will have a productivity boosting effect for the customer. The new design improves the crane operator's control over the positioning of the spreader and container on the chassis, in the cell or on the deck compared to existing cranes. Dwell times will also decrease substantially.

As container volumes and vessel capacities continue to grow worldwide, it is becoming necessary to adopt high productivity container handling systems. The SUPERTAINER crane is a high productivity quay crane that employs three trolleys: two hoist trolleys, and one traverser. The SUPERTAINER crane deploys three trolleys to perform container movements. A single trolley focuses on operating on the container vessel. Another trolley, located landside, focuses on containers on the terminal trucks. The traverser transports containers between these two trolleys. The SUPERTAINER crane therefore divides all operations amongst three trolleys, reducing the movement time for each container and improving overall productivity. The SUPERTAINER crane is capable of operating at more than twice the productivity of a conventional quay crane: up to 85 moves per hour.
SUPERTAINER Crane Features:
- Reduced Delays from Sway: Hoist Trolleys do not perform excessive lateral movement, drastically reducing sway
- Internal Buffer: The Multiple Trolleys provides a natural buffer between crane and terminal truck operaitons.
