A DP 2 system will use three control computers and, typically, two operator stations. Using three control computers makes it possible to perform majority voting between the computers, and it is thus possible to reject a computer should it fail.

The K-Pos DP-21/22 dynamic positioning - DP system consists of a dual DP controller unit and operator stations. The controller unit and the operator station communicate via a dual high-speed data network.

The Bridge Mate™ JX and DP 0 are based on a distributed architecture just like the Bridge Mate™ DP 1, DP 2 and DP 3 systems. This layout makes it possible to install hardware components in practical locations.
Both the Bridge Mate™ JX and DP 0 systems can be delivered in a "compact operator station" version or a "console" version. The first is most commonly used for JX units, and the latter is more common for DP 0 units. Different versions of the console version are available.

The Bridge Mate DP Concept is based on a distributed architecture using stateof-the-art technology for hardware and software. During the system design, attention was paid to both redundancy and segregation philosophies.
The system's robust design is important onboard vessels where a service and system specialist is not at hand 24 hours a day every day. The architecture layout reduces the cable installation considerably. Each interface unit can be placed close to the thrusters, engine and rudders to be interfaced. The design of the interface unit makes the Bridge Mate System well suited for retrofit and upgrading within all equipment classes.
The Bridge Mate DP 1 system complies with IMO DP Class I requirements in addition to classifications requirements for Class 1 systems.

The Mega-Guard Dynamic Positioning System (DP) automatically controls a vessel's position and heading by activating thrusters based upon data as received from position reference systems, gyrocompasses, wind sensors and motion reference units. The Dynamic Tracking mode allows the ship to move along a pre-defined track at low speed as defined by the operator.
The Mega-Guard Joystick Control System (JC) is a basic version of the Mega-Guard DP system and allows the operator to automatically control the heading and manually position the vessel based upon data as received from gyrocompasses and wind sensors.
The Mega-Guard DP and JC system are based upon the field-proven products of the Mega-Guard product line and the experience as gained on the design and delivery of joystick control systems as supplied on many different kind of vessels since 1980 (see reference list).
The Mega-Guard DP and JC system are suited for e.g. supply vessels, tug boats, dredgers, cable laying vessels and mega-yaughts in full accordance with the applicable classification and IMO rules (DP1, DP2 and DP3).

The K-Pos DP-31 and DP-32 are triple-redundant DP control systems comprising a triple-redundant dynamic positioning system controller unit and three identical operator stations. The controller unit and the operator stations communicate via a dual high-speed data network. Both systems satisfy the requirements of IMO Equipment Class 2 and corresponding class notations.
