A port crane is designed to lift and move heavy loads. Among the many different types, NauticExpo offers luffing jib, level luffing, mobile articulated and other cranes.
This equipment is used for loading and unloading ships carrying containers, palletized, bulk and other types of cargo.
The crane base may ride on wheels, caterpillar treads or rails. Its arm is equipped with a system of cables and hooks for cargo handling. The operator's cab can sit on the base or higher up on the crane.
Choice will depend primarily on the crane's load capacity and the type of cargo to be handled. Another factor is the crane's duty class and duty cycle rating, measured in lifts per hour.
