FRANS SUELL is a modern Car passenger ferry intended for the
short international voyages and built according to highest
Sccandinavian standards for such type of vessel, vertically divided
into 12 decks from the tank top to the wheel house level.
Deck No. 3 and hoistable deck No. 4 are arranged for the loading
of cars and lorries through the stern and bow ramps. Main
car deck No. 3 is divided into 8 lanes. The propulsion is achieved
by two shafts fitted with CP propellers and driven by twin coupled
medium speed diesel engines.

Ferries are used where there are no alternative traffic routes such as bridges or tunnels. They connect countries and people. Ferries play an extremely important role in public transport in cities by the sea or on big rivers. Depending on whom or what needs to be carried, passenger, car and train ferries are operated.
Meyer Werft has been building large car and passenger ferries since the 1960s. More than 20 of such ships have been delivered to operators in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Today these ships interconnect countries in Scandinavia, but also link these countries with Germany.
Meyer Werft has the reputation of a specialist for Ro-Ro ships. The "cargo" for these ships is driven on board as it is mostly passenger cars and trucks or even trains. Ro-Ro ships are equipped with decks on which the vehicles are driven. The advantage of this design is obvious: quick and careful cargo handling and flexible combination of what is taken on board.
As early as in 1966 Meyer Werft delivered the "Salome" and the "Undine", the first true Ro-Ro ships worldwide.

On 26 January 2009 STX Europe delivered car-passenger ferry "Armorique" to the French opeator Brittany Ferries. The vessel is worth approximately 110 million euro and has given some 700 man years of work for the yard.
The ferry is designed to carry passengers, cars and road cargo vehicles between France and the United Kingdom at a speed of 23 knots. The 168.3 m long and 26.8 m wide vessel, which has been developed in a close co-operation between the Owner and the yard, will have space for 1,500 passengers and 1.1 kilometres of vehicle deck space.

Ten years after the delivery of Molengat, a diesel electric car and passenger ferry for N.V. Texel Eigen Stoomboot Onderneming (TESO) for the service Den Helder - Texel, Schulpengat was delivered to TESO. Again diesel electric, now larger and with four Voith Schneider propellers and computerized controlled, so that all propulsion equipment can be monitored and operated from the wheelhouses.

The construction of the double-ended ferry Juliana was awarded to Merwede Shipyard in recognition of the yard's vast experience in this field. The ferry is of complex design, has two car decks and one passenger deck and is equipped with two autonomous engine rooms and two wheelhouses. The four main propellers and two transverse thrusters are diesel-electric driven.

Fjellstrand introduced the FerryCat 120 in 2003. The concept is a double ended, medium speed car and passenger ferry based on a catamaran hull.
The speed is 22 knots, the car deck has space for 120 cars, or a mix of cars and truck, with passenger capacity of 400 passengers.
In most cases, one FerryCat can replace two traditional ferries.
Four rotatable thrusters, one at both end of each hull as well as a 180 degree rotatable wheelhouse, ensures unrivaled manoeuvrability, safety and redundance for this type of ferry services.
The FerryCat provides a unique alternative to the traditional type of car ferries for short routes, with improved service to the travellers and cost saving for the operator as a result.

The JumboCat 60 is a car and passenger high-speed catamaran constructed for passenger capacities between 450 and 600. Car capacity is up to 60 and space for two large buses.
The JC 60 concept was introduced in 1996 and has been produced in various versions. The design is being continuously improved and developed.

Terminal Car is a traffic bollard completely laid underground. If necessary, it can be extracted and repositioned in its seat, thus making the area completely free and practicable.
Traffic bollards are used to regulate motor vehicles when either moving or
stopping. They are particularly suitable for historic city centres, squares, residential areas, commercial centres, etc.
Extraction occurs completely automatically by means of a microprocessor-based electronic central unit controlling an electric motor. This is offering the advantage that a traffic bollard can continue to work even in case of a power failure.
The hot-galvanised FE 510 massive structure can provide for excellent resistance to corrosion.
The floor surface is made up of a nodular cast iron ring having a 250 KN capacity and therefore also fit for heavy motor vehicles.
The traffic bollard is complete with high-luminosity blinking leds as well as with a reflex reflector providing for excellent visibility. An acoustic signal completes the system of signals.
