The PAX 550 passenger ferry is an ultra modern, stylish vessel, with luxury seating for up to 80 passengers over 3 different levels, including 2 compartments with electric flushing luxury toilets and hand basins.
This is a craft featuring semi wave piercing hulls, capable of speeds up to 32 knots, depending on engine options selected. Being a displacement vessel as such it offers a much smoother ride than any planing craft.
Seating layout can be adjusted to suit owners requirements and for up to 50 passengers even lounge type seating can be offered, together with a wet bar and a small galley if required.
Spacious walk around engine rooms are located in the centre of each hull, and the area ahead of this can be utilized for passenger baggage, or crew quarters, or even a private en-suite owner or crew cabin.
A large deck area ensures that passengers are not just confined to their seats, but are able to walk around or simply lounge on the open deck, as well, as they watch the water go by.
This is an extremely versatile vessel equipped with the most modern control and navigation centre, and if required air-conditioning of the passenger areas can be provided.

Three high-speed aluminium catamarans have been delivered to Swedish Stena Ab in 1996-1997: GTS Stena Explorer, GTS Stena Voyager and GTS Stena Discovery. These three uniquely constructed HSS liners are the world's largest high-speed ferries - capable of carrying up to 1,500 passengers and 375 cars or alternatively 50 trucks and 100 cars.
Stena HSS ferries provide high speed transportation, heavy loading capacity and excellent passenger comfort. Furthermore, the vessels have generously proportioned passenger service and entertainment areas.
The catamarans are powered by a combination of four water jets and four gas turbines. Jet propulsion ensures both safe manoeuvring and short stopping distance.

Fjellstrand introduced the FerryCat 120 in 2003. The concept is a double ended, medium speed car and passenger ferry based on a catamaran hull.
The speed is 22 knots, the car deck has space for 120 cars, or a mix of cars and truck, with passenger capacity of 400 passengers.
In most cases, one FerryCat can replace two traditional ferries.
Four rotatable thrusters, one at both end of each hull as well as a 180 degree rotatable wheelhouse, ensures unrivaled manoeuvrability, safety and redundance for this type of ferry services.
The FerryCat provides a unique alternative to the traditional type of car ferries for short routes, with improved service to the travellers and cost saving for the operator as a result.

Fjellstrand is now developing the next generation of size FerryCat. The FerryCat 240 will have capacity for 240 cars and as many passengers that you want!
The Service speed will be 22 knots from either Diesel or LNG engines. The FerryCat 240 will have four rotatable thrusters

Fintry CarboCAT Fast Ferry
The FINTRY CarboCAT Fast Ferry 38m Catamaran is based on the experiences with an aluminium Catamaran successfully in operation for more than 10 years and the successfully tested and modern carbon composite technology construction.
The FINTRY CarboCAT Fast Ferry 38m Catamaran combines positive findings from the existing Catamaran, the further development of the boat range during tank test at MARINTEC in Norway and the implementation of the meanwhile together with the modern vinylester in connection with carbon-sandwich-construction. This makes it possible to meet today`s increased requirements for passenger traffic and the safety standards for Fast Ferries.
The main features of the FINTRY CarboCAT
Fast Ferry Catamaran are:
• Implementation of the new carbon composite technology in commercial ship building by reducing the empty weight compared to aluminium constructions
• High quality and longer lasting quality
• Improved running characteristics and seaworthiness by reducing the displacement resistance based on the extended water line through hulls protruding forward
• Economic drive desgn (for example modern MTU engines)
• Improvement of the travelling comfort for passengers
The copyright for all development of FINTRY Catamarans is owned by

The first electric driven boat for passenger transport !
The electric boat of La Rochelle is the result of new and original characteristics never gathered before.
In 1998, AE realised the first total electric driven boat with 30 seat capacity which joins the passage between the Old Harbour to the village 'Ville en Bois'. After the successful results, the second boat took its place in the harbour in 2003.
The electric boat of La Rochelle which is designed and produced with a very high approach of technology, provides yearly rotations with frequentation of 7days a week, until late hours at night during summer time.

A new dimension, a new method for displacement !
The two electrical boats 'Navettes' of Paris presents a new dimension in the domain of fluvial transport. After the gracefull succes obtained by the electrical boat of La Rochelle, this environment respecting transport method have all the necessaire elements like quality of confort, availability, reliability and security to integrate into the network of community transport.
The realisation of this boat is the result of a technological approach with the experience of many years in this domain. Conception and realisation of every piece of the boat is decided after detailed processes to lower the consumption of energy to minimum, which represents a ratio 3 times lower than busses or conventional boats.
