An outboard center console boat is an open vessel with a central steering console, high freeboard and powered by an outboard motor. Its design favors its exterior aspects.
These craft are used for water sports, fishing, family trips, relaxing at anchor and other activities. They are best suited to hot climes and summer outings.
Most such craft are of modest size. Beyond a certain length an inboard engine becomes imperative. They are generally made of composite materials, usually fiberglass, though some are of carbon. Most have a spacious cockpit suitable for fishing or water sports, often with a sundeck. Bimini tops or hard-tops can be used to shelter the cockpit and/or the helm.
A length scale with sliding cursor at the upper right of the NauticExpo page will facilitate narrowing your search. Some of these vessels have one or more cabins, offering the possibility of coastal cruising. The use of an outboard frees the interior space otherwise occupied by an inboard engine.
