SOLAS uses a state of the art squeeze casting process to make our aluminum propellers stronger and tougher than traditional die cast products.
As shown below, with 400x magnification of a propeller blade root cross-section, the squeeze cast propeller is almost non-porous, with finer grain size than the die cast propeller.
SOLAS aluminum propellers have 4 layers of paint. Using superior coatings and a high-tech painting process ensures excellent anti-corrosion performance.
SOLAS aluminum propellers are exposed to over 500 hours of testing in a salt water spray tank. This testing simulates more than 6 months of normal salt water use.

For high-output and mid-range Cobra sterndrives, you have the choice of using 3 or 4 blade propellers. Our 4-blade propellers provide enhanced handling, improved holeshot, and smoother operation. Designed for higher-performance applications, these sterndrive and outboard propellers start at a comparatively high pitch of 18" and go up to 24". If you are currently using a 3-blade propeller with at least a 19" pitch, or you need a pitch higher than 21", this is the propeller for you. For this application a variable plunger pump with a compensated pressure/ flow control and a limitable stroke volume should be used.
An electric generator set that is also fitted with a variable hydraulic plunger pump as shown here, is able to provide both hydraulic and electrical power and may therefore be genuinely called a multifunctional "powerpack . However, if the generator set is required to provide hydraulic power, under certain circumstances it may be that there is insufficient electrical power to meet demand, due to the limitations of the engine horsepower. In this
(case the electrical supply will be automatically locked out. Please see the relevant instruction manual. With a view to the fact that the pump stroke volume and operating pressure can be limited, the hydraulic output power may be limited to any maximum value, as required.

Varifold Propellers have taken the market by storm. Regularly fitted by such notable yacht building names as Baltic, Swan, Wally, Moody and Oyster, the complete range of Varifolds has a model for cruiser racing and racing yachts of every size. Varifold is revolutionary in design and brings a revolution to the yachts they are fitted to. Radical reductions in noise and vibration and excellent performance under engine, both ahead and astern, are the result of the propellers unique design. Varifolds have proper helical pitch distribution, including pitch reduction towards the blade tip. This pitch reduction 'unloads' the blade tips and, combined with the skewed blades, greatly reduces noisy pressure pulses against a yachts hull. While some other folding propellers have a helical pitch shape, few have proper sections or pitch distribution. None, put all these requirements into a complete package, except Varifold.
