Barge Derrick
The U.S. Army Barge Derrick is the first of its kind in the U.S. Army. It has a primary mission of loading and discharging heavy lift cargo beyond the capability of a ship's gear. Its unique characteristics give the Army Transportation Corps an unprecedented capability to move heavy cargo. The Barge Derrick also has secondary missions of conducting salvage operations, clearing port channels and berths, and removing obstacles.
The Barge Derrick measures 200 feet in length with an 80 foot overall beam and a depth of 14 feet 4 inches. The Barge Derrick is equipped with a marine crane capable of lifting 115 long tons (LT) at 175 feet. The crane is equipped with three hoists-main (115 LT), auxiliary (25 LT), and whip (5 LT)-with hydraulic power supplied by a 1,200 HP diesel engine.

Platform supply vessels (PSV) is part of the latest product line of offshore vessels at Fjellstrand. The yard has several contracts for delivery in 2009/10 based on the HAVYARD 832 CD-design.
Havyard 832 CD is a medium-size platform supply vessel which complies with the current and future market requirements. The design has bigger capacities than the existing designs, has energy optimized diesel-electrical propulsion, and complies with the new environmental regulations for ”Clean Design”. We expect that the HAVYARD 832 CD will form a new segment in the future PSV market.

From 2006 Fosen Yards have once again put emphasis in providing Fosen Quality ships to ship owners in the offshore segment of the market, reintroducing the yard to a segment where the yard has not been present since 1983.
In 2006 and 2007 Fosen Yards signed contracts for the building and outfitting of 4 offshore vessels for Volstad Maritime in Ålesund, all designed by Skipsteknisk. So far a diving offshore vessel (YNo 76) and a multipurpose trencher/ROV survey vessel (YNo 78) have been delivered to the owner. In addition a seismic vessel (YNo77) and another multipurpose trencher/ROV survey vessel (YNo 81) will be delivered in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
In 2007 Fosen Mekaniske Verksteder signed a contract for the outfitting of two hulls for BOA Offshore (YNo 79 & 80). Both vessels are seabed logging vessels (MT6007 design), using the new technology for seabed logging developed by emgs.

Havyard 860 is an advanced Construction Vessel which will carry out work on the seabed in connection with development, operation and maintenance of sub sea installations for oil production offshore. More and more of offshore oil production will take place sub sea, which in turn will require new vessel types for this type of work. Havyard 860 is the biggest Havyard-designTM so far and will be a powerful workhorse with advanced equipment installed. The ship will have Clean Design Class for satisfying highest environmental requirements and diesel-electric propulsion systems for highest dynamic position class DYNPOS AUTRO / DP3.
To carry out sub sea work the vessel will be equipped with two large offshore cranes, the biggest lifting 250 tonnes and launching systems for remote operated vehicles (ROV) over the ship side. Havyard 860 will have high Comfort Class and facilities as day rooms, internet café, cinema, health club, etc., ensuring high living standards for the 140 people onboard.
