On NauticExpo, a motor yacht is a vessel measuring between 15 and 30 meters.
The motor yacht's size affords comfort aboard, making it suitable for cruising. Some models are designed for sport fishing, scuba diving or other nautical activities. These vessels are equally attractive to individual owners and to rental or charter companies.
The range of motor yachts models is vast, encompassing vessels measuring from 15 to over 30 meters. The wide variety of materials includes wood, steel, aluminum, fiberglass, carbon fiber, sandwich construction and other composites. There are flybridge, hard-top and center console models, as well as trawlers, lobster boats, catamarans and sport-fishing yachts, among other hull and deck plans.
The world of motor yachts is often one of luxury, offering outstanding design and equipment, modern construction using fine materials below decks and automated lighting, security and other systems, as well as cutting-edge technology for propulsion and electronics. The inboard engines can be diesel, gasoline, electric or hybrid. Models designed for inland waterways are generally slower and unsuitable for offshore use at sea.
