The expression 'less is more' is perhaps used far too often but ARCADIA fits this vision perfectly. Since the launch of ATHENA, the world's largest private sailing yacht, many yachts currently being launched appear to be overshadowed in size, but many owners are looking for new yachts that are deliberately designed to be on a 'human scale', able to visit the smaller, intimate ports and explore in areas that deliver personal satisfaction in total luxury.
If yachts could meet the lofty ambitions of Haute Horlogerie, surely Huisman's yachts would be a major brand in the upper echelons. This analogy is chosen carefully to illuminate the products and building ethos from the Royal Huisman Shipyard, where intricate detail and internal space management can create engineering excellence in a compact yacht, either sail or in the case of ARCADIA, a long range motor yacht.
So think of ARCADIA as a fine chronometer, beautifully engineered, immaculately detailed and fabricated to last a lifetime. All this fine detailing encapsulated in an unobtrusive but elegant and compact envelope.

The main saloon is open from the aft deck right through the dining saloon, with both burled and straight grain blonde maple used throughout. The dining table has a family-style lazy Susan for a casual family approach to decor but what looks sparse and simple is truly elegant. The salon sofa is made of custom-dyed, woven chenille by Andrea Senini, with Italian silks on all the chairs and a dining pendant of tortoise shell glass. The custom China is by Wedgwood and all the fabrics throughout are selective in their own way.
There is an open pass through to the full-sized working galley, which is large enough to satisfy the most demanding chef's intent on feeding the 21 beds on board. The dining settee, wrap-around white Corian counters and hardwood floors, and abundance of fine cabinetry combine to make it one of the smartest looking and most practical working galleys around. The master stateroom on the forward main deck is as simple as the rest of the interior, with a full-beam arrangement and stylish overhead soffits. The guest staterooms below let the maple and its lean lined mouldings carry the decor, which is again understated and uncluttered.

Combining design and styling by Humphreys Yacht Design with composite engineering by High Modulus, the latest project by McMullen & Wing adds to an already accomplished resume of high tech, high performance custom projects.
Even three MTU16V 4000 M90 series engines, each rated at 2,720 kW, and KaMeWa jet units, weight saving remained a critical requirement to achieve the high speed performance. The M&W design team embarked upon a program to critically analyse every component of the vessel to save weight; the vacuum infusion process of Carbon-fibre / Kevlar / Foam composite was utilized in the building of hull and superstructure, Titanium where possible for deck fittings and hand rails, and light weight veneered foam panels for interior joinery, all to Germanischer Lloyds Class and MCA.
Fitted with a generous array of navigation and communications systems, ERMIS2 is a state of the art vessel, complimented with a interior that is streamlined and light. Paint-treated ash and clear varnish maple combine with contemporary furnishings to create a modern nautical language.
