With popularity of expedition-style trawlers at an all-time high, this new N68 will bridge the gap between the look and feel of the Nordhavn 62 and the current flagship of the line, the Nordhavn 76. “There are those who have great affection for the aft pilot house boat and we felt that there was room in between our 62 and 76 for such a boat,” said PAE President Dan Streech.

The Viking 68 breaks new ground in yacht design and construction as the first Viking yacht in our history to make use of the company’s new five-axis profiler. This $1 million computer programmed router, the largest in the marine industry, was employed by Viking engineers and designers to create several of the mold plugs for the new model, including the flying bridge, helm console and main fuel tank.

Viking has been building enclosed bridge convertibles for over 11 years, delivering the first model, a 58 EB in the summer of 1995. From the initial launch, the design has grown more and more popular with cruising yachtsmen who wanted Viking’s well-documented performance with a climate-controlled helm. In essence, a Viking Enclosed Bridge Convertible is a fast, long range motoryacht with the speed, handling and sea keeping ability of an offshore proven tournament sportfisherman with great looks to match.
As the design has evolved over the years, Viking now offers enclosed bridges on the 74, 68, 64 and 56 Convertibles. And although the size of the enclosed bridge varies depending upon the model, each one shares a commonality of luxury and convenience features.
