"The Parr" is designed as an introductory kayak for a child size paddler. The parent or grandparent wishing to introduce their child or grandchild to kayaking will appreciate the Parr's removable sponsons. When attached, the sponsons make the kayak extremely stable. However, as the paddler's skills improve, the sponsons can be removed - allowing it to realize its potential - swift and agile.
"When the day comes that your son and/or daughter outgrow this kayak, it should be hung over the mantel - patiently in wait for the next generation's sea kayaker."

"The Return" is a fast and responsive wooden sea kayak. Its shallow arched bottom, modest rocker, and moderate chine keep wetted surface area to a minimum. These characteristics together with fine entry and exit lines, longer waterline, and narrower beam will reward the energetic paddler with noticeably greater upper end speed.
Weathercocking is virtually nil and the need for a rudder has been all but eliminated.
We have used "The Return" for extended camping trips and have had plenty of volume to accommodate all of our gear.
Enough stability has been added to this design that it will still qualify as an all-around wooden kayak; even beginning paddlers should have no problem feeling comfortable after only a few sessions on the water.

If a person were allowed to own only one wood sea kayak then the "Spring Run" would have to be near the top of most everyone's list!
Although about one foot shorter than "The Return", this wood sea kayak is nearly as fast.
Stability is such that all types of "hands free" activities like photography, fishing, and the use of binoculars are easily mastered; and there is enough maneuverability to satisfy even the most ardent and inquisitive "poker"!
This kayak has slightly greater volume than "The Return" and the cockpit area is such that the larger paddler will be very appreciative of the extra room.

When designing the Golden, the goal was to incorporate some of the unique handling characteristics of the "King" in a smaller kayak that is just as at home in big and rough water.
In addition to being about a foot shorter than the King, the Golden has more rocker, is 1/2" narrower, has an even lower rear deck, and due to the fact that it is recessed, the coaming height is the lowest of all the Redfish designs.
Owing to the shorter waterline length, the Golden is not as fast as the King. However, like its big brother, the swedeform hull and harder chine aft of the Golden contribute to even greater maneuverability and crisp leaned turns that are well behaved - it will return to track when brought back to upright after a leaned turn.
The bow and stern height are similar to that of the King but because it is a shorter kayak, a bit more fullness has been added towards both fore and aft ends to ensure that the bow and stern ride high and resist burying in heavy seas.

Introducing the newest addition to the Redfish line - "The King". This kayak is designed for the intermediate to advanced paddler, but given a few hours on the water, even a beginning paddler will soon learn to appreciate the unique handling characteristics of this exceptional sea kayak.
The hull configuration affords the King great performance - fast, highly maneuverable, and very responsive to leaned turns.
Tracking is strong enough to satisfy those who like to paddle "Point A to Point B" and weathercocking is surprisingly neutral for a kayak that features this degree of maneuverability.

This cedar strip wood kayak was designed in response to a request from a customer who desired "... a narrow wood kayak that is between 16 and 17 feet long and with a slightly lower deck than the Spring Run."
"The Silver" was designed along similar lines of the Return; however, in addition to slightly narrowing the beam, we also redesigned the deck -- allowing a greater range of upper body movement for a paddler of smaller stature.
The slight rocker incorporated into the fore section of the hull ensures great maneuverability, and the deeper keel line aft contributes to effortless tracking -- no need for a rudder here!
"The Silver" is a superb cedar strip wood kayak and fills the performance niche that existed between the Spring Run and the Return. It is a beautiful boat and an exciting addition to our growing family of wooden sea kayaks!

CoPoxy 100A is an epoxy resin that has been specifically formulated for bonding and coating wood. This resin has superb penetrating power, which lends itself to superior moisture resistance and high strength. CoPoxy 100A is available for use with four hardeners of varying work life/gel time.
These wood laminating systems are well suited for sealing wood surfaces, bonding applications, general marine construction and repair, and the cold molding process for fabricating wood and fiberglass structures.
