"The 6'2" Slingshot Squash Tail is the ideal crossover board for surfers who kite."
Chief Designer Tony Logosz.
The SST, designed by John Doyle, is made for the advanced surfer who wants to
kitesurf. Because of its unique shape and size the SST provides excellent planeability,
glide and drive in the waves.
The optimal way to enjoy this board is to use the kite to "tow" into a wave then
completely depower the kite and use your body and board to surf the wave and
carry you down the line. The broader shape of the tail area results in precision
stability and control.
The SST's performance shines when ridden with or without straps. The SST is
comparable to a paddle board and can be ridden as a true surfboard. The 6'2" size
makes it the only board you need to carry on a kiteboarding/surfing trip.
The SST, high performance kitesurfing.
Key Highlights

Co-designed by Teqoph board shaper Bill Johnson, who shapes surfboards for
champion surfers C.J. and Damien Hobgood, the SRT comes from the very same

Kitesurfing has come full circle back to its surfing roots with the introduction of the S-Quad. Years of design experience has gone into making the perfect kite surfboard. The S-Quad has all of the design elements of a true surfboard with the construction to match the kind of abuse the surf will likely dish out. Designed by Pete Cabrinha, the S-Quad blends his fast tow-surfing rockers with a wider curvier outline to deliver a board that powers off the bottom and snaps in the hook. The 4 fins allow the rail to hold when you need it and let it bust loose on demand.
The S-Quad is constructed with an X-48 EPS core and a composite skin. The x-48 construction has been custom developed to the Cabrinha S-quad. The XPS core is machined to offer the optimal shape. A full wood laminate under the feet provides strength and impact resistance. We use a multi weight glass lay-up to provide the best combination of strength and weight. When ridden with the new Revolver HD surf kite, its as close as you'll get to the real thing. If you want just one board to handle a wide range of surf conditions the S-Quad is your board.

Gaastra will make it easy for you to choose the right Directional Board for 2009. 2 Boards with very specific design criteria will cover any wave riding condition possible. From mushy and medium sized waves around Europe to big and powerful waves like Maui or South Africa. Waveriding in Kiteboarding has come a long way and these two new boards follow the trend of riding the waves with the drive and power generated from the wave rather than using to much power from the kite. This way you have more contact to the wave and it will give you the surf style feeling. No wonder our boards look exactly like surfboards these days. The 2009 Kite Surfboards are developed and tested in Cape Town, a well known place for radical wave conditions.
SURFKITE 5'6'' Facts
The 5'6" will deliver in any conditions where you want a compact but powerful board. In European waters with mostly onshore conditions this board will make it easy for you stay in contact with the wave and will help you to have fun in almost any conditions. With the newly developed kites on the market you will have all the abilities to ride the waves rather then generating the power from the kite. This board will work from the smallest wave up to 3m swell in almost any wind condition. Take the smallest possible kite and go surfing.
- Rounder outline for maximum maneuverability
- Medium rocker gives you maximum power in gusty conditions
- Square tail for a compact board feel and better turning at lower speed
- Sharp box rails from the fins to the tail make it a more powerful board on the cut back for a faster release
- Multiple strap position to trim the board for different rider weight

The Freestyle Fish concept is only a year old, yet it has been one of the most talked board in our range. What started as a concept project last year is now a category of it's own in 2009. This has only encouraged us to continue pushing and developing the FSF for 2009.
This year we've used the knowledge and experience of surf shaper Martin Littlewood to give a more "surfy" twist to this concept without losing the ease of use that made the Freestyle Fish so popular in the past.
We've expanded the range to a bigger version to please the bigger riders and light wind freaks.

This year the Legend comes out with a new shape in 163 by 44 and two inline straps. It provides even greater surf feelings. Its program combines the advantages of a directional for carving and of a twin tip so you don’t have to jibe allowing you to remain reactive on the spot. Very comfortable and with great upwind performance in twin tip configuration, this does not prevent you from jibing thanks to the inline straps. On the water you cannot tell if you are on a surf or a twin tip as it is awesome in any style.
