The jib furler is a mechanism which quickly rolls the jib around itself. NauticExpo offers a wide range of jib furlers: electric, for light jibs, etc.
The jib furler is designed to roll the jib around itself and to unfurl it when necessary.
Most jib furlers use a rotary drum holding a rolled line. When tension is placed on the line, the drum turns to furl or unfurl the jib, as needed. Some furlers use small electric or hydraulic motors, especially for handling large sails.
Choice will depend on the size of the sail to be handled. The drum must be large enough to contain all the line necessary. Large sails may require electric or hydraulic furlers. In such cases the power of the motor must be considered.
