communications anywhere in the world. Its primary function is to transmit position data from fishing vessels. It operation is conform FFA (Forum Fisheries Agency) regulations.
FEATURED FUNCTIONS
- Polling
The MES is programmed to automatically respond to a polling command from a land-line subscriber and send out pre-edited messages and various on-board data to him.
- Data Reporting
The MES automatically transmits ship's position data and various on-board data by presetting the file name, send-out time and address number, and input of an automatic transmission command.
- Self-Testing Facilities
The MES incorporates various self-diagnostic programs to facilitate maintenance and troubleshooting. The self-testing results are displayed on a data terminal equipment.
Automatic testing for performance verification and commissioning via satellite channel is also available.
- GPS Receive
By incorporating a JRC compact, high-performance GPS receiver in the EME (Externally Mounted Equipment), position polling and reporting is available.

FURUNO's Inmarsat FleetBroadband, FELCOM 250 and FELCOM 500 deliver faster, more cost-effective solution to maritime broadband data and voice communications on a global basis. Once installed, FleetBroadband will turn a ship into a broadband floating office where constant, simultaneous access to voice and multiple high-speed data services are available, transforming access to data at sea. Increasing levels of both operational and social communications can be conducted all at the same time through this new service. Navigators can obtain weather and chart updates online in order to optimize their route planning and monitoring tasks, while all onboard can enjoy the benefit of the Internet, e-mail and VoIP calls to the head offices or their friends and family back home all via a single terminal.
FleetBroadband represents a quantum leap in terms of marine communication speeds. With its data capability of up to 432 kbps (FELCOM 500) more than three times the maximum for Fleet 77 service it will alter the way mariners and vessels communicate, just as on-shore broadband data communications paved the way for the broadband IP era.

global spot beam coverage for satellite telephones and offers
also unique cross-over protocol raming facilities for all existing
telephones. 66 cross-linked Low Earth Orbit satellites (LEOs)
form a worldwide grid only 780 km above Earth. The Iridium
antenna always can see 3 satellites at the same time which
ensures good contact at all times and guarantees a clear signal
irrespective of the distance between the communicating parties.
The IMF 1000 is well-suited for all types of vessels %u2013 from fishing
boats and cargo ships to powerboats, yachts and cruise liners
- even in remote areas, both on land and at sea. The IMF 1000
