Fun, efficient & clean: Depending on the boat, today’s high revving HPE 250, with its outstanding power-to-weight ratio ratio, can be a real fun performer. This diesel, inboard or sterndrive, has been designed specially for performance craft and is well capable of outperforming equivalent-size petrol engines. You have the added benefit of excellent fuel economy. This new engine model, just like all of the FNM diesels, is clean running, virtually free of smoke (RCD compliant). It’s quiet, too. Just right when you want to maximise your leisure time on the water.
Ideal for family, sports cruisers & RIBs: Eat up the water with one of FNM’s larger diesels, the HPE 250, the Alfa Romeo based direct injection, electronic, 5-cylinder, 2.4 liter Multijet 20 V engine with variable geometry turbo. Inboard or stern drive, this is big power whenever and wherever you need it.
It is compact and provides outstanding power for every kilogram of weight. Therefore, it’s the perfect choice for family cruisers, sports cruisers and RIB's. Lightweight, fast, fuel-efficient and reliable, they’re the propulsion companions of logical choice. The HPE 250, for instance, is ideal for RIBs. Also available in twin installation. Ask FNM for advice on the most appropriate package for your boat. |

In designing the engines, consideration was given to their intensive use and to the desirability of easy and simple maintenance. These engines feature individual cylinder heads and wide inspection doors in the block, which makes access to the inside parts of the engine easy, and shortens the service time during maintenance and repair processes.
This series comprises six and eight cylinder in-line engines as well as twelve and sixteen cylinder 60º V-bank engines.

The basic design
The D6 is a 6-cylinder marine diesel engine with common rail high-pressure fuel injection, double overhead camshafts, 4 valves per cylinder, turbocharger and aftercooler. The displacement is 5.5 litres. It is extremely compact considering its large swept volume, high output and unique marine torque. Together with a large swept volume and the EVC system (Electronic Vessel Control), this results in world-class diesel performance, combined with low emissions. |

| The design evolution within Yanmar's technology creates engines which not only perform, but also last and last. That's our mission. This has led to a worldwide reputation for unsurpassed reliability. These engines are the most compact and powerful in their class. The 24-valve overhead cam valve train is the main driver of this success. And, not to forget, the water cooled wastegated turbocharger, intercooler and fuel cooler, which maintain peak performance. |

| The D9 in-line 6 diesel is developed from the latest design in modern diesel technology. Electronically controlled unit injectors 4-valve technology and electronically controlled unit injectors, working at pressures up to 1,800 bar, produce a good fuel-to-air ratio at any load condition. The 4-valve technology also helps ensure the efficient flow of gas. |
|
| At Yanmar, we make our engines easily accessible. A double oil dipstick on port and starboard side is standard. The 6LY3 also has replaceable dry cylinder liners, which means low cost engine overhauls. The buil-in fuel-priming pump also improves airbleeding and the oil filter with built-in oil drain reservoir on top makes it more easily accessible. |
