Outboards are usually used with open hulls to maximize space. However, to improve appearance or range, such craft sometimes use inboard engines.
Fitting an open hull with an inboard engine usually reduces available space. Using the space under a sundeck or in the bilge of a V-shaped hull to house the motor are two possible solutions.
