The DATADIS®-system is used for registration, processing and distribution of data on research vessels. It continuously registers nautical, meteorological and ship-specific data, as well as survey and fishery data. The registered and processed data are available in a standardized data telegram for further application. Data output is done every second via serial interfaces or the ship-LAN. By means of the DATADIS®-software, data can be displayed graphically, printed or recorded. Recording is done in a 10-second-cycle.
DATADIS® mainly consists of the PC-system with appropriate software and several decentralized converters for collection and output of data. So-called %u201CUser-PCs%u201D can be connected with the system in order to supply the scientists on board with data. The software enables individual design of spreadsheets (formats) on the PCs. In order to do this, all available measuring values can be arranged arbitrarily in different sizes and display formats by drag-and-drop. The designed formats can be saved, copied and changed.

The DDL is a complete commercial fishing software solution, it is a touch screen ready application that captures marine data in real-time and/or after the fishing activity takes place. The DDL can be linked to a GPS receiver and it incorporates a GIS utility for easy viewing of vessel movements and other operational fishing data.
The DDL includes a fishing reporting module for the creation and mailing of reports. These include agency compliance reports such as defined by the EU regulations (EU 1966/2006, EU 1566/2007), AFMA regulations, the NZ ministry of fisheries reporting requirements, NOAA and other management agencies.
The DDL can also compile reports required by commercial fishing companies for their own internal use. Additionally, it can be used by all other authorised data recipients such as: scientists, compliance agencies, commercial users, fish markets, observers, program managers, etc.
Drop-down lists used in the DDL are pre-populated by using the extensive Olfish database in order to maintain data integrity, thus minimising typos and saving time. New fields and values can also be added as necessary. The DDL is highly customisable, and it can be easily modified to address vastly different data recording and reporting needs. The DLL output (Reports) can be in the form of normal text, CSV, XML or even formal logsheets, as may be required by compliance authorities.

NAPA Log is a platform for Electronic Logbooks
The NAPA Log consists of two components: a Ship Module and the Office Module. The Ship Module is for gathering, entering and relaying data to the Office Module. The Office Module is a system for receiving, viewing and storing the data received from ship systems. It builds up a fleet-wide database for reporting the data received.
NAPA Electronic Logbook - To replace traditional logbooks
The Ship Module of the NAPA Log is the main component of the electronic logbook system. It records all traditional logbook data in great detail with a minimal amount of user input. The system has online interfaces to navigation and vessel automation systems. The amount of logged data is limited only by the onboard systems.
All of the data entered into the electronic logbook is authenticated and cannot be altered afterwards; the Ship Module data are thus considered a replacement for traditional logbooks. Proper back-up routines ensure that the data is stored securely for an extended period. Initially the system includes all data fields found in traditional logbooks. The system is structured in such a way that additional data (e.g. company-specific logbooks, etc.) can be incorporated with relative ease.
From the ships, the logbook data are transferred to the Office Module for viewing and further processing. The electronic logbook data can be used for various reports and follow-up of performance.
