Flybridge trawlers are bulky and relatively slow. Their general outline is similar to that of fishing draggers. The flybridge (top deck with or without steering station) offers increased space.
Flybridges are particularly useful in hot climates.They can be used as panoramic viewpoints, which is practical for mooring (clear view).
The flybridge can be used as a sunbathing area and often features a summer kitchen.
The flybridge itself is an equipped deck situated on the roof of the main cabin. It is usually made of the same material as the boat itself, and is often protected by a windshield and/or a flexible bimini-top or hard top for protection against the sun.
