|
Plate type
Plate thermal exchanger is composed of multiple corrugated multiple electric heating panels hanging between the upper carrying bar and the underneath guide bar.
The electric heating panels make a hole enabling two fluids to be passed through, and the shape of the valley formed by the panels changes the flow of fluids into a turbulent flow and acts as a support to the plates against the input indifference between two fluids.

Alfa Laval provides a comprehensive range of plate heat exchangers of the traditional type, featuring gaskets between the plates.
The conventional type of Alfa Laval plate heat exchangers uses heat transfer plates fitted with gaskets that seal off each channel from the next, and direct the fluids into alternate channels.
This type of plate heat exchanger is used throughout industry as standard equipment for efficient heating, cooling, heat recovery, condensation and evaporation. Generally speaking, all of these Alfa Laval units are notable for:
High thermal efficiency for effective heat transfer
Compact design resulting in small quantities of materials used for heat transfer surfaces
Low installation cost
Easy dismantling and easy, rapid cleaning
High performance with low hold-up volume
Versatile, modular design
Environmentally efficient
The range is continually being updated and extended to include new technical features and design innovations. The T series, for example, is built with a new frame design that paves the way to more plates per frame as well as opportunities for the use of modularised components. This ensures even easier and more rational assembly and service.
There is also a range of special wide-gap gasketed plate heat exchangers designed to cope with fluids that contain fibres and coarse particles. Units with wide-gap channels are also eminently suitable for use with highly viscous fluids.

The Free Flow plate heat exchangers by GEA Ecoflex are particularly suited for products containing solids and pulp as well as for highly viscous products. They are distinguished by their
wide gap cross-section from 5.0 mm up to 12.0 mm
combination of wide and narrow flow channels within a single unit, depending on the application
flow channels without metal support point
profiling structure (waves) that is insensitive to soiling
These properties are why they are used mainly in the sugar and paper industries and in the food and fruit juice industries. They are also often used in the renewable energy sector.

No chance of product intermixing
With Safetytherm you are always on the safe side. Our developers have created a perfect design that absolutely excludes the possibility of non-compatible products mixing with each other.
Read more here on the GEA Exoflex safety solution:
The Safetytherm double-wall plate heat exchanger by GEA Ecoflex consists of two extra-thin plates which form a small leakage gap. The inlet and outlet openings of the plates are welded. Apart from that, their design is the same as that of conventional gasketed plate heat exchangers.
In the case of a plate breakthrough, the product will not enter the neighbouring flow gap, but the leakage gap. The product is conveyed to the outside via special leakage channels without any product mixing being possible.

Compact and efficient
Brazed plate heat exchangers consist of pressed stainless steel plates which are brazed with copper or nickel in a vacuum process. For brazing, every other plate is rotated by 180 degrees in the plane to produce to separate flow channels in which the products involved in heat transfer flow in opposite directions. The plate contours generate a highly turbulent flow allowing very efficient heat transfer even with low volumetric flow rates.
Advantages of brazed plate heat exchangers:
Simple installation with individual connection design
Highest operating reliability with comprehensive quality controls
High resistance to pressure and temperature
Compact design with low weight
Brazed with copper or nickel
Plate material of stainless steel or XCR for normal and aggressive media
More possibilities with wide range of connection possibilities
Practically maintenance-free

Gasketed Plate Design
By means of technological innovation SONDEX has developed and designed a new generation of plate heat exchangers.
With the big range of plate heat exchangers SONDEX has got the optimal technical solution for any possible task, with connection sizes from Ø15 - Ø500 mm covering a liquid flow of 50 l/hour - 2000 m3/hour.
The construction of the inlet part makes a perfect distribution of the liquids across the heating surface. The inlet part is increased and supplied with grooves preventing "dead spots" which may cause the growth of bacteria in the plate heat exchanger. The inlet with groves secures a strong inlet part with a minimum of contact points.

GROUND PLATE RECTANGULAR 205 X 64 X 13 MM (8X2 1/2"X1/2"). SURFACE 2SQ/M.
Glomex Synthesized bronze Ground Plates are the necessary interface between electric and electronic board devices and the dissipator element: water.
The Bronze micro-spheres realize a huge contact surface with the dissipator element (water), given by the sum of the surfaces of all the bronze spheres; in fact, supported by the porosity of each ground plate, water penetrates into the plates touching the surface of all the spheres.
This kind of construction provides more efficiency than the smooth ground plates.
Glomex Ground Plates are provided with bolt and spacers done with the same material (bronze) used for the plates, in order to avoid electro-corrosion phenomena.
The new 2009 exclusive shape proposed by Glomex provide to an extended developed surface and stronger plate edges.
