Flotation & Ballast
In some circumstances, additional ballast may be required to assist in the performance of the structure, and to fulfill this we suggest the use of sand bags that travel the full internal length of the float unit rather than uncontrollable sloshing water. It should be noted that momentum will increase significantly should the structure be able to move and the appropriate anchoring to match such condition should be chosen.

Recreation island in the Hout-habour, Amsterdam
In the Amsterdam Hout-harbour the municipality has planned to dredge 8 residential islands. On these islands 950 houses will be built and mooring facilities will be created for 70 residential floating houses. The careful use of space results in innovative building. FDN has been involved in creating a recreational island in the harbour and also a floating road from the island to the existing constant pier for tankers. The floating road is designed using concrete pontoons filled with polystyrene.

Here's a novel idea that's just come on the market - a floating swimming pool!
Called Mobipool, it takes just half day for the pool to be installed in still waters such as lakes, reservoirs and ponds - useful for swimming lessons among other applications. Pools can also be linked together with their own floating decks, the portable pools also offer optional hydro spa.
Mobipool have an easy-to-construct modular design, complete with integrated filtration system. Filled by taking in the surrounding water through the filtration system, the pool encloses crystal-clear water that's free from contaminants. The AquaDomi® modular can be combined into floating offices or meeting facilities. The floating office can be delivered with kitchen, sanitary and staff rooms, as well as service and meeting facilities.
The unique possibility to have terraces and watersteps, makes the floating harbour office even more attractive.
The floating harbour office is available in 3 sizes. 96 sqm, 128 sqm and 160 sqm.
The displayed model
The model A160FH01 has one floor and a total floor area of 160 sq.m., offering space for employees. The floating office has a practical standard furnishing, but of course we can adjust it to your wishes and requirements.
All floors are AquaDomi® mahogany ships deck, coated or oiled. There are god service facilities, toilet and shower room.
The office is hooked up to the public infrastructure: Water, waste water, electricity, telephone, internet and antenna. All floors have electric floor heating. The displayed colour combination is blue profile with mahogni frames and off-white walls and ceilings, which make a beautiful ensemble with the mahogany ships deck.
