Plate type
Plate thermal exchanger is composed of multiple corrugated multiple electric heating panels hanging between the upper carrying bar and the underneath guide bar.
The electric heating panels make a hole enabling two fluids to be passed through, and the shape of the valley formed by the panels changes the flow of fluids into a turbulent flow and acts as a support to the plates against the input indifference between two fluids.

Hamworthy heat exchangers for LNG applications are of the shell and tube design and delivered for any BOG or LNG vapour duty according to customer specifications. Materials are typically AISI 304L or 316L. Instrumentation and control valves will be part of the supply scope.

Spiral type thermal exchanger forms two flow paths, winding around two metal plates in spiral. Multi-tube thermal exchanger forms multiple flow paths by many heat transfer pipes, but spiral type thermal exchanger is a single round flow path so that most of pollutant generated by failure of thermal exchange are not attached but flown in complete countercurrent regardless of its temperature. It has the best efficiency in use of temperature difference of exchanged heat and other excellent features.

GESAB-HTI Exhaust Gas Heaters, heated by waste gases from the vessels's main engine, is commoly used in satisfying the heat demand of the vessel's bunker heating, accommodation, calorifier water and pre-heaters during the voyage. It may also be sufficient to heat the cargo, subject to heat requirement.

Bowman Marine Heat Exchangers.
There are three methods employed for water-cooled marine petrol and diesel engines: direct, heat exchanger and keel cooling. Direct cooling of the cylinders and heads by sea-water is unsatisfactory, because the engine - which was probably originally designed for radiator cooling - will run too cold and the sea-water will eventually ruin the cylinder block and heads.

Alfa Laval provides a comprehensive range of plate heat exchangers of the traditional type, featuring gaskets between the plates.
The conventional type of Alfa Laval plate heat exchangers uses heat transfer plates fitted with gaskets that seal off each channel from the next, and direct the fluids into alternate channels.
This type of plate heat exchanger is used throughout industry as standard equipment for efficient heating, cooling, heat recovery, condensation and evaporation. Generally speaking, all of these Alfa Laval units are notable for:

The GEA Bloksma plate fin oil (PF) cooler is a well proven, compact (25% of conventional), slim lined heat exchanger for cooling oil by means of sea- or fresh water and is suited for a wide range of marine and industrial applications. Unlike conventional shell & tube types it contains a bundle with a high density plate fin surface around the tubes. The cooler is available in 4 standard shell diameters ranging from 100 ñ 280 mm, covering 1 to 170 m2 plate fin surface. Connections in most cases can be DIN or SAE compatible or BSP threaded. The length of the cooler is variable. Standard components and modules enable to provide a large number of solutions, meeting customer requirements at a short delivery time.
Two standard versions are available:
IV Industrial Version: For non-aggressive or controlled cooling water
MV Marine Version: For aggressive or surface water

The heat transfer surface of a GEAShell consists of profiled stainless steel plates which are welded together to form a plate pack and are precisely fixed in a shell tube. After fitting the connections, the shell tube is completely welded.

The Safetytherm double-wall plate heat exchanger by GEA Ecoflex consists of two extra-thin plates which form a small leakage gap. The inlet and outlet openings of the plates are welded. Apart from that, their design is the same as that of conventional gasketed plate heat exchangers.
In the case of a plate breakthrough, the product will not enter the neighbouring flow gap, but the leakage gap. The product is conveyed to the outside via special leakage channels without any product mixing being possible.

Compact and efficient
Brazed plate heat exchangers consist of pressed stainless steel plates which are brazed with copper or nickel in a vacuum process. For brazing, every other plate is rotated by 180 degrees in the plane to produce to separate flow channels in which the products involved in heat transfer flow in opposite directions. The plate contours generate a highly turbulent flow allowing very efficient heat transfer even with low volumetric flow rates.

Gasketed Plate Design
By means of technological innovation SONDEX has developed and designed a new generation of plate heat exchangers.
With the big range of plate heat exchangers SONDEX has got the optimal technical solution for any possible task, with connection sizes from Ø15 - Ø500 mm covering a liquid flow of 50 l/hour - 2000 m3/hour.
The construction of the inlet part makes a perfect distribution of the liquids across the heating surface. The inlet part is increased and supplied with grooves preventing "dead spots" which may cause the growth of bacteria in the plate heat exchanger. The inlet with groves secures a strong inlet part with a minimum of contact points.

AlfaDisc is an all-welded circular plate heat exchanger based on the plate-and-shell concept, making it ideal for uses involving high pressures and temperatures.
The AlfaDisc all-welded plate heat exchanger provides the exceptional thermal efficiency and compactness of a plate-and-frame unit under conditions that would normally require a bulky, traditional shell-and-tube unit.
These heat exchangers have the added advantages of being able to deal with high-fatigue applications and tackle asymmetric flows, as well as allowing easy cleaning on one side. The sum total of AlfaDisc advantages makes this design a highly competitive alternative to other types of welded heat exchangers.
AlfaDisc all-welded heat exchangers are designed for use with liquids, gases and two-phase mixtures at pressures up to 100 bar (CE/PED) and 47 bar (ASME) and at temperatures up to 540°C. This plate-and-shell unit works well with aggressive media %u2013 such as organic solvents %u2013 that are beyond the capabilities of gasketed heat exchangers. They can be used for a wide range of duties, including many types of heating and cooling, condensation, evaporation, reboiling and stream heating.
AlfaDisc units are currently available in three sizes, designated AlfaDisc 50, 100 and 150. Special units can be supplied with a removable core.

The Konutherm high efficiency exhaust healers are specially designed to recover the maximum of available heat from (he engines exhaust gas. At the inlet of the exhaust gas heater a special double-valve system can be applied for exact control of the required thermal oil temperature at any engine speed.
