The systems consist of formulated epoxy resins and hardeners with varying cure speeds. The 9263B, 9283B, and 9287B hardeners are interchangeable and may be combined for custom property requirements. Many of the systems have been engineered to have convenient volumetric ratios so that they may be used on all types of metering and meter mix devices. While cure is complete after 7 days at room temperature, properties are increased with a moderate post cure. These formulations are NON BLUSHING, assuring maximum performance in the harsh environments present in the marine industry.

SilverTip Laminating Resin is a medium-low viscosity, liquid epoxy resin system that has been optimized for coating and reinforcing fabric saturation in wood-composite boatbuilding. It will outperform any other product in these applications. SilverTip Laminating Resin is designed for use with fiberglass, Kevlar, Dynel and graphite as well as on bare wood. It has superior wet-out characteristics with little tendency to foam or trap air. Both the resin and hardener are nearly colorless and are used in an easy 2:1 volumetric ratio. SilverTip Laminating Resin cures to a brilliant blush-free film with either the fast or slow hardener eliminating secondary bonding concerns as experienced with other epoxies. The working time is longer than most boat building epoxies without extending cure time. The cured film is tough and resilient with better heat resistance than other epoxies cured at room temperature. Fillers, wood flour, and bulking agents can be combined with SilverTip Laminating Resin, however, we suggest using the other members of the SilverTip Series for adhesive, filleting and fairing applications.

Included are two fire retardant resins that can be used with a couple of hardeners to control cure speed. One resin is very low viscosity and can be used with resin infusion methods. The other is a thixotroped resin that works well for hand wet out or use in an impregnating machine. Refer to XR02-099-28A/226 and XR02-099-28A/237 for the low viscosity versions. See the data sheets for XR02-099-29A/226 and XR02-099-29A/237 for the thixotroped products.

The 820 Epoxy Laminating Systems are 100% solids systems developed for the fabrication and repair of high performance composite structures. The 820 Epoxy Laminating Systems consist of one resin and a selection of three separate hardeners to suit your building or repair needs. The resin and hardener combinations produce low viscosity mixtures with convenient volumetric mix ratios. In addition, the 820 Epoxy Laminating Systems are specially formulated for standard wet lay-up or resin-infusion operations requiring the highest degree of fabric wetting and air release attributes. The systems are specifically engineered to promote a high fiber-to-resin ratio and a greater interface with composite fabric(s), thereby resulting in lighter, stronger parts offering lower maintenance and long-term performance.
