Legendary Diesel Filtration
When engines demand heavy duty, high capacity water separation and fuel filtration, the Turbine Series is the most complete, efficient and reliable engine protection you can install. Symbolizing Racor's continuing commitment to the science of filtration, the Turbine Series has established its position as the filter/separator often imitated, but never equaled. Models which include an aluminum bowl or staineless steel shield meet ASTM FS1201 certification, are UL-Listed, American Bureau of Shipping, Veritas, Det Norske Veritas, ISO 10088 and U.S.C.G. accepted. For severe service, all-metal bowls should be specified.

Cost Effective Visual Inspection
Cost effective designs for on engine or remote mounting. Complete assemblies or direct engine spin-on filters. Available with see-thru or all metal bowls.
High Capacity
Hand operated fuel priming pumps are integral to many Racor diesel spin-on series models. A feature that allows for the removal of unwanted air from the filter and the engine fuel system.
Environmentally Friendly
Engeineered polymer bowls are reusable, impact-resistant and virtually indestructible. When it's time for service, only the filter element is replaced -- the see-thru bowl and drain valve assembly are reused. The long life-cycle of the bowl saves money and reduces the environmental impact through disposal fo less material. Use metal bowl versions for inspected or commerical vessels.
Easy Upgrades
See-thru bowls provide connection ports for upgrades which enhance engine performance and reliability. Powerful in-bowl heaters can be added to improve operation in colder climates and electronic sensors alert the operator to drain the water in the bowl.

The Racor Fuel Filter Funnel (RFF) family is a new heavy-duty, fast-flow, filter-in-a-funnel that separates damaging free water and contaminates from gasoline, diesel, heating oil, and kerosene.
|
|
Being on the water is fun, having water in your fuel is not. And more than ever today's high performance gasoline inboard and outboard engines require clean, dry fuel. Standard spin-on filters simply don't offer the improved features and peace-of-mind that come with quality Racor fuel filter/water separators.
Clear contaminant collection bowl with drain valve for outboards
Ten micron Aquabloc media
Long life with 98% efficiency
Corrosion-resistant construction
Metal bowl units inboard powered boats meet 33 CFR and USCG standards
Meets ABYC standard H-23

Reservoir breather filters provide precision hydraulic components with special protection against wear particles and destructive moisture. The use of reservoir breather filters is especially critical in high humidity areas or where moisture is present near hydraulic systems. Racor reservoir breathers contain a unique filter media which removes both dirt and moisture. The spin-on design provides ease of service. Consult factory for details.

Now, engine owners have the opportunity to combine the Racor LFS with a highly efficient, environmnetally safe Bypass Oil Filtration System.
The Racor Bypass Oil Series removes dirt, varnish, ash, tar, soot and other contaminants that full-flow filters cannot remove from your engine's oil. The system also removes condensed water, which forms damaging acids if it remains in the oil.
The Bypass Oil Series filter element is 1 micron filter element. With surface filters, particles tend to stack up on a single plane, thereby "loading" the filter and cutting off flow. The Bypass Oil Series filter element is a "depth" filter trapping different size particles at varying depths within the element, so loading is virtually eliminated.
Extended oil changes are possible with a Racor Bypass Oil LFS and regular oil analysis. Analysis provides important information about the condition of the oil and when it needs to be changed. It eliminates relying on "recommended change intervals" which are based on standard, full-flow filters.
By extracting samples of engine oil at predetermined intervals, a record can be established based on the actual condition of the engine and the oil.

Many people are totally unaware of the problems that water in fuel can cause. Droplets of water in fuel are the ideal carriers of dirt and rust through narrow pipes. One small drop of water may cause blockage of the fuel pump, cutting off the fuel supply. With diesel engines it is then very difficult to re-start the engine. Water may also be the cause of rust in the pump or in the injectors, resulting in blockage and expensive repairs. Fuel tanks in boats often contain some water, which seeps in when filling, or which is formed by condensation. Apart from this, a fuel tank in a boat often contains dirt, which is too much for just the primary fuel filter of the engine to handle. A VETUS separator/fuel filter is therefore certainly no luxury, but a necessity. THE WS 250 AND WS 750 WATER SEPARATORS/FUEL FILTERS ARE DESIGNED FOR APPLICATION WITH DIESEL FUEL ONLY. THE MODELS WS 180 AND WS 720 ARE SUITABLE FOR BOTH PETROL AND DIESEL FUEL.
The VETUS water separators/fuel filters type WS 180, WS 250, WS 720 and WS 750 consist of the following components:

The new bilgewater treatment system with the Westfalia Separator minimaXx separator type WTC was specially designed for the rough conditions on board.
The product is fed by the feed pump into the centre of the separator bowl. Within the rotating bowl, the product is separated into a heavy and light phase.
The heavy water phase is separated from the finest oil droplets and dirt particles and then conveyed under pressure by the centripetal pump to the discharge. If the oil concentration on the clean water outlet of the centrifuge exceeds 15 ppm the water is led through an absorption filter. The lighter oil phase flows to the centre of the bowl and is discharged by gravity.
The separated sludge is collected in the solids holding space and must be removed by hand. An intelligent control and monitoring system assures problem-free, round-the-clock unmanned operation. It also ensures that only water with an oil content lower than 15 ppm is released into the environment.

The product (i.e. oily water) is sucked up from the oily water tank or engine room bilge and fed by the feed pump through the filter and preheater via the feed valve to the separator. During the start-up or ejection program it is led back into the oily water tank. The product flows from above into the centre of the separator bowl. The heavy water phase is separated from the finest oil particles and then conveyed under pressure by a centripetal pump to the discharge.
The separated impurities accumulated in the sludge space are discharged into the sludge tank periodically. The clean water discharge is supervised by an oil monitor and discharged into the environment. If the oil content exceeds 15 or 5 ppm the water is recirculated into the oily water tank. An intelligent process control adapts the capacity of the system to the changes of the product.

During the bilgewater separation process impurities accumulate in the sludge space. They are discharged into the sludge tank at periodic intervals by means of total bowl ejections. The self-cleaning bowl is equipped with the modern hydrostop system. The result is highly compacted solids.
An intelligent control and monitoring system assures problem-free, round-the-clock unmanned operation. It also ensures that only water with an oil content lower than 15 ppm is released into the environment.

The sludge components of water, oil and solids are separated in the separator by centrifugal force. The recovered oil and water is discharged under pressure by centripetal pumps.
The concentrated sludge is discharged intermittently via the sludge transfer unit into a heated sedimentation tank where final concentration takes place. Excess water and oil is allowed to overflow back to the sludge tank.
The concentrated sludge is pumped from the unit automatically by a solids discharge pump controlled by a level switch.
Amicroprocessor-based control cabinet supervises and controls the complete concentration process.
