At Yanmar, we make our engines easily accessible. A double oil dipstick on port and starboard side is standard. The 6LY3 also has replaceable dry cylinder liners, which means low cost engine overhauls. The buil-in fuel-priming pump also improves airbleeding and the oil filter with built-in oil drain reservoir on top makes it more easily accessible.

Initially designed for Alaskan fisherman, Luggers are well known by commercial and pleasure craft operators for their long life and smooth, quiet operation.
The L1064T1 features a mechanical fuel delivery system and liquid cooled turbocharger for enhanced fuel effeciency. Ideal fo rthe commercial operator who runs full-throttle for long periods, the L1064T1 is designed for long hours and simplified maintenance.
All the 1064 diesel engines are US EPA Tier II compliant with an in-line design tht makes them perfect repower engines for older in-line six cylinder machines.
The Lugger 1064 (106 mm bore-4 cylinder), 4.5 liter, diesels have heavy-duty tractor blocks. This high torque design provides a strong foundation; but a marine engine is only as good as its marinization. A Lugger's marinization is cast iron tough. The expansion tank and liquid-cooled exhaust manifold are cast iron. Some engines only use bypass water to cool their manifolds. Lugger integrates the two pass manifold into the cooling system main stream to assure even temperature control and to eliminate hot spots that can stress metal components.

The Beta 120 has been specially developed for commercial Fishing Boats, Launches, Wide
Beamers and Dutch Barges. It is a heavy duty - 6 cylinder - naturally aspirated - direct
injection - marine propulsion diesel engine. Its outstanding asset is the slow speed / high
torque of 440Nm developed at 1,400 rev/min from an engine of solid construction that is not
only smooth and quiet but also economic with direct injection. This engine is ‘Recreational
Craft Directive’ emission compliant, but not EPA compliant.
Beta Marine - Beta 120 - 6 cylinder, naturally aspirated, diesel propulsion engine developing
120 bhp at 2,600 rpm with a swept volume of 6.7 litre. The engine is supplied complete
with a heat exchanger and header tank, water cooled exhaust manifold, fresh and sea water
pump, exhaust injection bend, mechanical fuel lift pump, fuel and oil filters, sump pump,
flywheel housing, special quiet air intake filter, 12 volt starter, 90 amp battery charging
alternator, shutdown solenoid, control panel "AB" (with tachometer/hour recorder, keystart
