When Ralph Ellis designed the ELLIS 24, he started with a half-model, using only the vision and touch of years of experience. The result: a versatile 24 footer that is adaptable to all types of engine installations and has developed a loyal following in both the commercial and pleasure boat markets.
Constructed with a modern fiberglass hull, the Ellis 24 is adaptable to numerous layouts in either a semi-displacement version (with a keel) or a planing version (without a keel.) This boat can be built with or without a cabin. A big boat with an even bigger boat feel, the ELLIS 24 is stable, comfortable and dry.

Ray Hunt's iconic solution for the wind-driven, short, steep seas of Buzzards Bay. More than a classic bassboat - with overnight cuddy. Using a jack-shaft to connect a mid-ships engine to outdrive opens up her big, useful cockpit.

The ELLIS 28 was designed by Ralph Ellis to be extremely seaworthy. She is equally successful as a fishing boat, day boat, or weekend cruiser, and her sharp looking hull will produce a good cruising speed. Many people marvel at the way this boat rides-- "She rides a rough sea like she is another 8 feet in length..." and, "she handles like a charm around the harbor..." are two popular comments from customers. This boat is not too big to handle, and not too small to cruise the coastline. In fact, most people find her just right. Maybe that is why it has always been our most popular boat.
Because we build each Ellis 28 on a semi-custom basis, we complete each one to the proper specifications for an owner%u2019s use. This method of boatbuilding will result in a boat that is your boat, built to satisfy your needs.

The popularity of our Surfhunter 29 generated interest in a larger version, one with a bit more capacity and length, for longer open-water crossings and cozy overnighting. Surfhunter 29 is more generous in cockpit and accommodations, offering standing headroom below as well as an enclosed head with shower. With the longer length, this extra volume is still presented in an attractive low profile, with multiple engine options that include gas and diesel IO, IB (v-drive) and jet drive.
