How to choose this product

dock-lighting-pedestal

A dock lighting pedestal provides lighting in various areas of a marina.

Applications

In addition to providing illumination, these units often include water and electrical connections for boaters.

Technologies

Pedestals tend to be rather short so the light does not disturb sleeping live-aboard sailors. They are usually spaced at regular intervals along docks and fingers. Some are equipped with water and electrical outlets, and, more rarely, Internet and television connections. Certain versions include meters, sometimes coin-operated. They must be designed to withstand the rigors of the marine environment and possible vandalism.

How to choose

Choice will focus on appearance and efficacy if lighting is the only function. If the pedestal incorporates water, electrical or other services, additional parameters come into play. The collaboration of an urban lighting specialist is recommended. In some countries, port lighting must meet certain national or local standards.
