Volvo Penta's 6-cylinder D6-370 is developed from the latest design in modern diesel technology.
The engine has common rail fuel injection system, double overhead camshafts, 4 valves per cylinder, turbocharger, compressor, and aftercooler. The interaction of these, the large swept volume, and the EVC system results in exceptional diesel performance combined with low emissions.
The D6-370/DPR is suitable for both single and twin engine installations in speeds above 47 knots. |
| A clean sheet diesel developed just for marine application, the Volvo Penta IPS 600 propulsion system will forever change the leisure boating experience. There is an ever-increasing demand for higher speed, improved handling, enhanced onboard comfort and reduced emissions. Buyers of sports cruisers, sport fishing, flybridge yachts and other craft with traditional inboard propulsion want speeds well above 30 knots. But this is where the efficiency of conventional shaft installations really starts to drop. Something new is required to combine performance with driving pleasure, onboard comfort and reliability with good environmental properties. |
| Yanmar's engines lasl and last. They are designed and built to do just that. Every detail is taken into account. The 6LY2 has super hard ceramic push rod tappets which keep wear to a minimum. And the whole series has stainless steel exhaus/water mixing elbows' a guarantee for long life and corrosion resistance. |
| The D9 in-line 6 diesel is developed from the latest design in modern diesel technology. Electronically controlled unit injectors 4-valve technology and electronically controlled unit injectors, working at pressures up to 1,800 bar, produce a good fuel-to-air ratio at any load condition. The 4-valve technology also helps ensure the efficient flow of gas. |
| At Yanmar, we make our engines easily accessible. A double oil dipstick on port and starboard side is standard. The 6LY3 also has replaceable dry cylinder liners, which means low cost engine overhauls. The buil-in fuel-priming pump also improves airbleeding and the oil filter with built-in oil drain reservoir on top makes it more easily accessible. |
