Today's boats utilise many advanced modern materials. Carbon fibre and GRP provide structural strength, Kevlar in our ropes and sails give us higher breaking strains and greater product life while stainless steel has made rust a thing of the past. Now it's the turn of decking to be treated to a modern, high tech upgrade.
Tek-Dek Flexible is a superb alternative to wooden decking that can be applied to almost any surface including GRP, steel and timber. Its flexible composite structure makes it impressively non-slip and this feature continues even when the deck is running in salt water.
Ideal for either DIY or boat builders, Tek-Dek is supplied in easy to manage 2.25m strips. A craft knife and adhesive spreader are the only other tools required.
Tek-Dek Flexible, while almost indistinguishable from its traditional timber forerunner, features the kind of benefits that sophisticated scientific and production technology can provide.

the 1st Teak-it-easy strong point holds in its aspect! the visible external face has a texture whose resemblance to that of the true wood is more than astonishing. The coloured pigmentation and the grain built-in are completely convincing. The 2nd great point strong it is that it is a Hi-Tech matter (imputrescible, without defects and without nodes, without maintenance, unlike the wood it requires any protection, it requires any oiling, neither varnish, neither sandpapering, nor no consecutive operation with the installation. It does not become gray like growing old teak and keeps its initial coloring). In more it makes only 5 mm thickness, it is lighter than the wood, comfortable with the touch, it does not resound under the steps and it is ecological because it safeguards the forest.

We present to you here, in photographs, the sequences allowing to pose, in situ, a very complex Teck panel. Surrounded in Red on the photograph, you see the position of this panel finished, in top of the steps on the skirt starboard of this catamaran Fountaine Pajot ATHENA 45 moored in Calvi, in Corsica. Do you imagine to have to make this panel with true Teak? it is feasible, but much less Easy!! you will then include/understand best the interest of our Product!

A super yacht deserves the best. Both in terms of quality and beuty.
The teak deck is an important feature in the total impression of the yacht. It is one of the first things that will strike you once you are onboard. We realise this, so therefore we will only provide the best quality of teak along with a first class handcraftship.
On top of providing the teak decks for your Yacht, we can also do stairs, handrails, tables... you name it!
New technology
In addition to our standard yacht deck Tectona can also offer the FMS yacht deck. Breifely explaned, it is a sandwich concept where we use a special cellfoam as substate to the teak.
This will lead to several advatages such as noice reduction, better insulating properties and also weight savings in comparation to conventional teak decks.

We have over the years installed several thousands of square metres on cruise ships all over the world. We do both refurbish projects and new buildings.
Handling a deck installation on a cruise ship requires good planning and a skilled workforce. This will result in keeping the deadlines and giving the customer satisfaction with a great long lasting teak deck.
This is why we only use in-house technicians to perform the jobs always lead by one of our own installation supervisors.
Our standard cruise deck is delivered in prefabricated fingered panels. The panels are then glued to the steel deck by the use of our specially developed vacuum technique.
For cruise ships we can also offer a teak deck system developed by our parent company Fagerdala Marine Systems. Consisting of a sandwich concept, having a special cell foam as substrate to the teak. This will provide several advantages such as ultra lightness, better insulating properties and also noise reduction. A brilliant solution for example on balconies.
