A day fishing boat on NauticExpo is a powerboat less than 7.5 meters long. The helm is generally elevated and the spacious open cockpit well-suited to fishing activities.
These are multipurpose craft. They are often equipped with at least one cabin, making them suitable for short cruises. The inboard or outboard engines are sometimes powerful enough for tow sports.
The great majority of such vessels are made of laminated polyester/fiberglass. Inboard engines limit unpleasant noise but occupy interior space. The engine can be gasoline, diesel, electric or even hybrid. Optional gear may include fighting chairs, refrigerators, rod holders or electronic fish finders for locating schools of fish.
These boats are distinguished primarily by the number of berths. Other factors include helm and cockpit configurations, which can be partially sheltered or entirely enclosed. Engine selection will determine range, speed and other capabilities.
