Automatic stacking cranes (ASC) are rail mounted cranes used for yard stacking and in-stack transportation of containers in the storage area. ASCs deposit and pick up containers from dedicated transfer areas at both ends of the stack. Stacks are located usually perpendicular to the quayside in order to minimise the travelling distances of feeding equipment.

Unique patented Konecranes Active Load Control (ACL) system. RTG

The majority of RTGs in the world at present have lifting capacity of 40T as only one 20ft or 40ft container is hoisted. However, the quayside container crane can hoist two 20ft containers at one time, the operation of container crane and RTG can not match each other, and the handling efficiency is seriously affected.
In 2002, ZPMC developed the double 20ft RTG which can hoist two 20ft containers with lifting capacity of 60T. After trial operation for 2 years, the performance is good, and the yard handling efficiency is increased.

Spreader Model 8100 is a 40 tonnes capacity telescopic rail mounted or rubber tyred gantry crane spreader designed to handle loaded ISO containers. It is renowned in the industry for its light weight, fast telescopic extension speed and the excellent visibility it allows onto containers. The 8100 is fitted with ISO quick exchange floating twistlocks. It also features four hydraulically operated corner flippers. Twistlocks and sleeves are made out of forged steel. A mechanical safety device prevents accidental unlocking. The main structure is manufactured to DIN15018 classification H2B4, corresponding to two million load cycles. It extends from 20 to 40 ft. The extension beams slide on self lubricating wear strips. Tough rubber pads mounted between the beams and frame dampen shocks and help reduce noise. Each beam has an individual hydraulic extension cylinder. The three-point cylinder mounting absorbs shock loads from all directions. Rugged mechanical stops ensure that each telescopic position is maintained during the container handling operation. Two electric motor-and pump assemblies ensure simultaneous extension of both beams. In case of failure the spreader can be operated with a single motor/pump at a lower speed.
Control voltage from the crane is always converted to 24VDC for safety and reliability. The ELME 8100 features standard safety systems such as blocked beam extension function as soon as the spreader is seated and/or locked. Besides the mechanical locking system, an electrical safety prevents twistlock operation if all four corners are not properly seated.

The Bromma YSX40 Marathon:
The Bromma YSX40 Marathon is a heavy-duty yard crane spreader calculated for 2 million cycles.
The spreader can adjust its’ length to lift 20 foot and 40 foot containers using ISO floating twistlocks.
The telescopic spreader is of a rectangular frame construction enabling easy location on containers. The design with recessed end beams makes handling of lashing frames and hatch covers possible. As a standard, the spreader is equipped with 4 x 10 tonnes lifting lugs in the corners of the end beams for heavy lifts and for handling damaged containers.
All motions of the spreader are controlled from the driver’s cab and there are provisions made for signals in the cab indicating the position of the twistlocks and landing pin status. Control valves for twistlock and guide arms are mounted on the end beams, in order to simplify maintenance and to minimize the number of hydraulic hoses in the cable chain system. Several guide arm combinations are available.
The electrical components and the cable chain system are well protected inside the main frame. The hydraulic power pack is entirely enclosed within the main frame to ensure maximum protection. The complete hydraulic unit is shock mounted in one sturdy frame with protective covers.
Made of high quality steel, the standard YSX40 Marathon spreader provides high lifting capacity with a low nominal tare weight thanks to the box design of the telescoping arms and the main frame. The spreader is designed in accordance with DIN 15018 H2B4. All components can be easily assembled, adjusted, removed and are accessible for inspection and maintenance.
