The Bromma separating Tandem T45:
For industry-leading terminals that seek to "turn" container ships as rapidly as possible, the Separating Tandem T45 spreader offers dynamic and unmatched loading and unloading capacity. The Tandem T45 has the capacity and the flexibility to handle all possible combinations of 20 foot, 40 foot, and 45 foot containers both quickly and efficiently. It can also handle four 20 foot containers simultaneously and seperate the two 20 foot containers longitudinally between 0 and 1,5 metres. The Seperating Tandem T45 Spreader promises to push productivity per crane lift cycle "to the edge" and greatly improve the overall efficiency with which a container ship may be loaded or unloaded.
Of course, to take full advantage of the lifting capacity of the Tandem T45 will require a higher-capacity container crane. The estimated Tandem T45 spreader weight is 31 tonne, and with spreader capacity of 65x2 tonne (Bromma standard), customers will need a crane capacity of 165 tonne in the ropes. This will most likely prove unrealistic. As such, most customers will rate 20 foot containers to a maximum of 20-25 tonne, thereby resulting in a required crane capacity of 115-135 tonne in the ropes. While capable of enormously productive lifting cycles, the Tandem T45 can be expected to pose no problems in 40 feet cell guides, as the spreader will use the entire cell space.

The Bromma YTR40 MARATHON:
The Bromma YTR40 Marathon is a heavy-duty yard crane spreader calculated for 2 million cycles.
It is designed for twinlift capability and can handle two 20 foot containers at the same time or one 40 foot container. The design is well proven and structurally based on the Bromma ship to shore spreaders.
The telescopic spreader is of a rectangular frame construction enabling easy location on containers. The design with recessed end beams makes handling of lashing frames and hatch covers possible. As a standard, the spreader is equipped with 4 x 10 tonnes lifting lugs in the corners of the end beams for heavy lifts and for handling damaged containers.
All motions of the spreader are controlled from the driver’s cab and there are provisions made for signals in the cab indicating the position of the twistlocks and landing pin status. Control valves for twistlock and guide arms are mounted on the end beams, in order to simplify maintenance and to minimize the number of hydraulic hoses in the cable chain system. Several guide arm combinations are available.
The electrical components and the cable chain system are well protected inside the main frame. The hydraulic power pack is entirely enclosed within the main frame to ensure maximum protection. The complete hydraulic unit is shock mounted in one sturdy frame with protective covers.
Made of high quality steel, the standard YTR40 Marathon spreader provides high lifting capacity with a low nominal tare weight thanks to the box design of the telescoping arms and the main frame. The spreader is designed in accordance with DIN 15018 H2B4.

The Bromma STR45 ship to shore twin-lift spreader:
The spreader consists of two regular twin-lift spreaders and one separating twin-lift. The STR45 twin-lift can lift one or two 20 foot containers, a single 40 foot container or a 45 foot container. The telescopic spreader is of a rectangular frame construction enabling easy location on containers. The spreader is as standard equipped with 4 x 10 tonnes lifting lugs in the corners of the end beams for heavy lifts and for handling damaged containers. The spreader can retract to the 19 foot-6 inch position in case it becomes jammed in the ship's 20 foot cell. The design with recessed end beams makes handling of lashing frames and hatch covers possible. All motions of the spreader are controlled from the driver's cab and there are provisions made for signals in the cab indicating the position of the twistlocks and landing pin status. Made of high quality steel, the standard STR45 spreader provides high lifting capacity with a low nominal tare weight. The spreader is designed in accordance with DIN 15018 H2B4. All components can be easily assembled, adjusted, removed and are accessible for inspection and maintenance. The spreader comes with the SCS² Spreader Communications System, reducing and preventing downtime through improvements in the area of electrical connections.
Major features:
- One or two 20', one 40' or one 45' container can be lifted without changing the spreader
- Recessed end beams allow handling of lashing frames and hatch covers
- Advanced communications system reduces downtime considerably
- Fast trouble shooting
- Fulfils design criteria among DIN 15018 H2B4, FEM 1.001 and British Standard BS 2573

Mobile Harbour Crane twin-lift spreaders MTR45:
The MTR45 can single-lift one container in the 20', 40' or 45' position, or twin-lift two fully loaded 32.5 tonne containers, or twin-lift two containers with quite different loads. The MTR45 is capable of highly eccentric gravity point adjustment of 2.1 meters. It can also be outfitted with Bromma’s twin-twenty detection system, (TTDS) which uses a cluster of sensors to detect a gap between containers loaded in the ship’s cell.
The MTR45 features a pole design for the gravity point adjustment so that eccentrically loaded containers can be adjusted into horizontal position. This allows the spreader to be safely rotated without tilting or overloading. The gravity point adjustment is especially important when loading or unloading in the guides in the ship’s cells. After unlocking an unevenly loaded container, the tilting pole assembly automatically returns to the vertical position. The MTR45 is normally used in conjunction with Bromma’s standard rotator The flexibility designed into the telescopic system allows small changes in spreader length when handling distorted containers. Bromma’s six-flipper arm layout, coupled with a hydraulic motor flipper drive, provides positive damping to allow efficient gathering on to a container even when the spreader is rotating. Simplified Bromma design means fewer mechanical components, fewer spare parts, and reduced maintenance. Repair and maintenance is simplified through easy access to each component.

The ELME Model 8200TL is a twinlift quayside spreader designed to handle 20, 40 or 45 ft containers or 2 x 20 ft containers in the twinlift mode. Capacities are 40 or 45 tons in the single mode and 2x 30 tons in the twinlift mode. The twinlift retracts in its width when in the «up» position to prevent interference when working in the single lift mode. It can be lifted and lowered with the spreader in the seated position. The 8200TL is fitted with ISO quick exchange floating twistlocks. It also features 4 hydraulically operated corner flippers. The main structure is manufactured to DIN 15018 classification H2B4, corresponding to 2 million load cycles. The twinlift twistlocks and seated sensors are only active when in the lowered position. When in the lifted position, the twinlift is mechanically /hydraulically secured. A «twin-twenty» detection system is available on option.
The extension beams slide on self lubricating wear strips. Tough rubber pads mounted between the beams and frame dampen shocks and help reduce noise. Each beam has an individual hydraulic extension cylinder. Two electric motor and pump assemblies ensure simultaneous extension of both beams. (In an emergency, the spreader can be operated with a single motor/pump). The three-point cylinder mounting absorbs shock loads from all directions. Rugged mechanical stops ensure that each telescopic position is maintained during the container handling operations.

We fondly refer to the sailing model of the Westcoast 11'6" row boat as "The Adult Dinghy" because there's room for one large adult in the aft area between the seats and two more with a picnic basket forward of the mid-seat either side of the centerboard well. Why should kids have all the fun?
The Westcoast row boat is rigged with a standing lug sail with a 56 square foot sail. It features a teak kick-up rudder and pivoting bronze centerboard. A removable bowsprit and jib is also available.
This row boat handles and performs superbly under sail in both light and high winds. The hull shape forward produces a lift effect when gunnel down, hard on the wind. This makes it harder to drive the gunnel under and keeps the interior dry. Off the wind the Westcoast just scoots along and is a joy to be aboard.
The sailing model is also available with an optional slide seat unit which adds the ability to use the boat for getting a full body workout doing slide seat sculling.
