How to choose this product

A classic schooner has two masts, the mainmast aft of the foremast. Its traditional appearance is reminiscent of the age of sail, typified by wooden construction and gaff-rigged sails.

Applications

These vessels are a favorite of traditional sailing enthusiasts. Significant maintenance requirements and associated costs make them accessible only to relatively well-to-do sailors. Such craft are used for cruising, short trips, chartering and even for racing. The numerous annual nautical events featuring these vessels delight spectators.

Technologies

While wood is clearly the material of choice, hulls are sometimes made of steel, aluminum or even composites. Rigging type varies, including common Bermudian and traditional gaff rigs.
