In 2001/2002 we were designing two ferries for More og Romsdal Fylkesbatar A/S from Norway. They are sisterships 87.6 m long, 16.4 m wide and 5.35 m high. Each of them can take 300 passengers and 85 cars. More og Romsdal Fylkesbatar A/S is a valuable partner for us. He administers the fleet which is composed of 140 different vessels and he has exclusive rights to operate by his ferries road connections in More og Romsdal region in Norway.

Flensburger's 3200 RoPax design reflects a ferry concept with an excellent ratio of cargo intake with respect to trailers and/or cars, whichever is required. The appealing design and the overall warm and cosy atmosphere in all public areas makes every voyage a unique travelling experience for the passengers. During the winter season the large cargo area allows excellent earnings using the vessel mainly as a "workhorse type" RoRo carrier.
Further assets of the ship’s design are a considerably better speed/-power ratio than competing designs and special emphasis was put on outstanding operational behaviour.

This 5-deck ConRo carrier represents an excellent example of economy by scale. Highest cargo flexibility with regard to container intake as well as trailer and car capacities are the outstanding features. All of this is achieved by a sophisticated concept which allows to transport an optimum mix of different kinds of cargo. Nevertheless the general dimensions and power intake are well balanced, ensuring high service speed and low fuel consumption.

This type of ship, built at the Peene-Werft GmbH Wolgast under building Nos. 479 and 480, is the further development of the already proved 5.100 tdw Project-Carrier of Scanscot series whereby the principle conception - the high degree of loading flexibility - is continued.
The ship of 127 m length and 20 m breadth, with its stern ramp, large main deck hatch (92.3 x 16.3 m), two ro-ro deck hatches and own loading gear for heavy cargo (2x 100 t) is offering versatile utilization, world-wide.
The hatches are provided with weathertight closing facility by means of combined pontoon/hinged coversystem.
The hatch covers on main deck are combined with a plugin bulkhead, subdividing the ro-ro cargo hold. The ro-ro deck hatch covers can be by choice open or closed. With the hatch open, it is possible to transport high loads (up to 12 m height) under watertight conditions below deck. At the same time the upright hinged cover is subdividing the ro-ro cargo hold.
The stern ramp, the ro-ro deck, the tank top and the hatch covers are strengthened for heavy cargo, the decks respec-tively hatch covers are prepared for transportation of containers (628 TEU). On deck sockets to connect refrigerated containers (40 pcs.) are installed. In limited scope the transportation of packed up dangerous goods is possible. The cargo holds are provided with an airdrying facility.

For the newly designed Ro-Ro/Lo-Lo Multipurpose--Carrier of the Hegemann Yards, the PEENE-WERFT, WOLGAST got four contracts which got the construction numbers 475, 476 and 480, 481. The four identical vessels are earmarked by their versatile utilization in connection with their high degree of loading flexibility. The 100 m long and 18,80 m wide compact Projectcarriers are fitted with a 70 m long weather deck hatch and a big sternramp for heavy cargo gives access to the Ro-Ro-deck also for over sized cargo.
A big and weathertight covered tween deck hatch, which can be by choice open or closed allows the separate loading of the lower hold. With the lower hatch open the transportation of extreme dimensioned cargo is possible under watertight conditions below deck. Both the Ro-Ro-deck and tank top are streng-thened for heavy cargo. The vessels are not only fitted for rolling cargo as trailer, Mafis or big project construction parts but also for transport of 500 containers. With the two special for this type of vessel developed Liebherrcranes with a SWL of 100 t each it is possible, independent from shore/harbour facilities to load or unload cargoblocks of up to 200 t. The for this type of ship high service speed of 16 kts as well as a large range give these ships constructed for unrestricted voyage a multipurpose utilization.
|
|
Maximum cargo capacity
Excellent speed -/ power performance
Low fuel oil consumption
Excellent seakeeping behaviour
Flume stabilisation system
Maximum deadweight capacity
Low noise and vibration levels
The ship is equipped with rotary wane steering gear and two bow thrusters to give more manoeuvrability.
To save time when loading and discharging the internal ramp is two lanes wide. Which enable loading and discharging the two top decks at the same time.

DSME builds a 6,000 unit automobile carrier with outstanding quality. The carriers have the largest loading capacity owing to the company's thin steel plate welding technique. It minimises modification while maintaining designs that maximise vehicle loading capacity in small space. Especially, a 38,300 DWT multi-purpose roll-on roll-off carrier was exclusively designed by DSME. It is an entirely new concept-based carrier not only for cars, but also for tanks and helicopters as well.
Furthermore DSME received an order for an 8000 unit RORO, the biggest car carrier in the world at the end of 2005.
