The carbon fibre boom distinguishes itself by having a low weight, high strength, and a unique design and appearance. Our design team will take all the needs and specific wishes into the design of the boom
Primarily, there are two types of carbon fibre booms. The ordinary boom, known from small yachts, and the Park Avenue boom, used on the big mega yachts on which the size of the mainsail is so bigand heavy that it will require the boom to have ”wings” which will carry the sail when lowered, generally supported by lazy jacks.
Nordic Mast has its own moulds and tools for making carbon fibre booms. Nordic Masts use the same technique and engineering principles for the boom structures as we do for our masts. Nordic Mast is only using leading products in the making of our boom.
Small but very fine details on the PARK AVENUE BOOM as he incorporated track for the boomcover and the suncover are two of the standard features on the product.

The Nordic Smart Boom is available for new as well as existing booms and is made customized in carbon fibre to keep its weight down to an absolute minimum. The primary purpose of the Nordic Smart Boom is that of "picking up" the mainsail when the sail is lowered down on the boom, the boom tarpaulin is zipped, and the sail is stowed away.
Nordic smart Boom primarily targets boats ranging between 30 and 50 ft.; above that, we would recommend the Park Avenue boom. No matter if you have a new or older boat and you are looking for easy handling, a refined look, the Nordic Smart Boom will fulfill your needs.

Superb carbon fibre composite or aluminium construction with painted finish
Key Benefits
- Accommodates entire flaked mainsail and battens
- Rapid, safe reefing from the safety of the cockpit
- No 'slabbed' sail to be secured or create unwanted windage

Hall Spars & Rigging VBoom is an elegant alternative to the furling boom. The unique V shape captures the mainsail beautifully, and there are no internal parts to service.

CST manufacture a wide range of standard and custom made booms for dinghies and skiffs, through to trailer sailers and larger yachts. Our standard boom sections are elliptical in shape for optimised bending stiffness in the vertical plane. This gives a lightweight but stiff section. Booms are supplied unfitted, please refer to our 'Help Guide' for information on how to correctly assemble your boom.

Formula understands the science of Carbon Fibre technology, and engineer rigs using finite element analysis. This enables us to confirm the loads before a single piece of pre-preg carbon fibre is cut.

Carbon composites are known for their:
High fatigue tolerance
Stability under environmental exposure
Exceptional strength to weight
All these features make carbon composites attractive not just for the construction of mast tubes and fittings, but also for standing rigging.
Composite Rigging installed the first full set of Element C6 carbon composite rigging on the Farr 52 Georgia in Auckland in March 2003. This set includes all shrouds, jumpers, running backstays and headstay. These pieces now have over five years of service without incident.
Since that time EC6 has been installed on a variety of yachts ranging from 30’ sport boats to 50+ meter Megayachts.
The first set of EC6+ continuous rigging was installed on the Farr 60 Numbers in the spring of 2005. More recently the Open 60 Paprec-Virbac won the Barcelona doubled handed nonstop round the world race with EC6+ carbon shrouds. Post-race testing confirmed that there was no strength degradation. The rigging has been refurbished and reinstalled for the next event.

When you can accept nothing less than the best, get the latest and greatest from Gaastra. The All new Blue Line of carbon booms proves to be 40% stiffer than any aluminum boom out there. A special grip is added to ensure comfort and control. The new boom head provides a tight connection to the mast while a double pushpin operating system guarantees strength and durability. Different bends for each size range make this boom the ultimate performer.
|
|
|
Our top of the line high performance boom, with a full carbon body and tail extension. Reduced diameter hand grip for ultimate comfort and control, with only a 26mm grip on the 140-195 model. The monocoque (one piece) profile provides a market leading stiffness and strength. The double pin lock system provides optimal load distribution and a stiff connection between the boom body and tail end, even when extended to the maximum. The robust front incorporates an anti-friction lever and an integrated mast shim, for RDM masts. If you are looking for a boom without limits, the Simmer Black Line is your choice of preference.

RED LINE
The Severne Red line boom series offers variable diameter to ensure the optimum blend of rider comfort and maximum stiffness, incorporating the unique Severne dual density front lever for comfort and impact protection.
For 2010 the boom will feature a hollow tail piece, reducing the swing weight of the boom for easier handling.
RED LINE 140-1 GO - CARBON
26mm reduced diameter body with ultra skinny 22mm diameter tailpiece. This allows the reduced diameter the full length of the boom arm.
RED LINE160-210 - CARBON
26mm reduced diameter grip area with a 29mm rear boom arm and 26mm tailpiece. The increase in diameter of tailpiece compensates for the increased boom length optimising the durability of the boom.

ENIGMA
The ultimate in lightweight, stiffness and progressive bend curves.Hand crafted using pre-preg carbon. In choosing an Enigma boom, you are investing in
performance.
ENIGMA WAVE 140-190 (PROFILE=WAVE)
Even as the narrowest diameter boom in the range (and possibly in existence) at 25mm, the Enigma wave has the best stiffness to weight ratio. It has been finishec with top end components:ergonomic rubberised lever, dual pin adjustor clips and low profile back end.
ENIGMA SLALOM
Tested by Bjorn Dunkerbeck, the Enigma slalom boom is light, stiff and fast. Designed for use with any serious racing set up and finished with ergonomic features such as the ruboerised lever and dual pin adjuster clips. The back end is optimized for an adjustable outhaul system. 29mm diameter.

A full range of carbon booms exclusive to MauiSails in every regard. Five metal, steam heated press moulds is the start of this very complex process. All the moulds are exclusively owned by MauiSails with our own unique bends and diameters. All plastic parts are exclusively developed and molded by MauiSails.
This is the highest standard carbon booms in the windsurfing industry today. State of the art carbon booms made from Pre preg carbon fiber in heated treated press molds produce the best stiffness to weight ratio possible for composite carbon construction.
All MauiSails booms comes with it's own highly developed frontend to fit onto the 40mm diameter boom arm. Each boom having it's own purpose from the Carbon Race 250 coming with monocoque body and backend to the wave 140 having all 30mm grip for super comfort and control

Innovation is the driving force. Chinook’s Triple Clamp Boom Head and unique molding processes are criteria that make our 2007 booms stiffer, stronger, and more user-friendly than any other carbon boom. Other features include external locking pin collars to eliminate twist, a unique clew block for fixed or in-flight adjustable outhauls, and an extra generous extension range. The Formula boom has a wide tailpiece and fairleads for inflight outhaul systems. All bends have been modified to keep up with modern sail design.
