The Pod Drive is designed for safety. Two sacrificial pieces are incorporated into the system to break away in the case of impact and avoiding damage to the hull. The aft-facing propellers are protected by the gearcase and skeg. Most floating objects will be deflected down and away. So enjoy your boating to the full.
