The use of new SD Radar systems (Super Definition) makes your Colour Plotter an excellent High Definition Radar Screen for navigating in any weather condition.
Five Antenna versions are available, which allow a wide choice based on preferred navigation and type of vessel, both sailboat and motorboat.
All informations provided by the system are perfectly visible on the LCD Display. The contours of the Radar image will surprise you with their clear brightness.
The Lorenz SD Radar system can be interfaced with cartographic plotters of the World Map 11 and Starlight Dual series.
Some of the most important features like EBL, VRM, Rings, Mark positioning, rotation speed control, sectorial obstacle alarm with choice of angle and selected distance, make the Radar system easy and intuitive to use.
The great innovation is brought by the CHART OVERLAY system that allows to place the cartographic image over the image actually read by the Radar, as seen from the bow of the vessel.
This feature is particularly advisable for night navigation and with poor visibility. The radar system makes navigation more secure in difficult passages or when entering a harbour, than when depending only on the predefined nautical chart.
The SD Radar is supplied with an Anticollision System that automatically gives an optical and acoustic alarm signal that calculates on forehand if on your route you will meet other obstacles.

Just released at METS2009, the 2RxPRO is a TRUE DUAL CHANNEL AIS Receiver, with integral NMEA0183 mux and NMEA AND USB outputs. The unit features industry-leading, pro-quality sensitive digital radio receivers that monitor both AIS channels simultaneously, so you do not miss messages or have to wait for the data to be eventually received (as is the case with all single channel AND switched single channel receivers.) No setup is required - just install a suitable VHF antenna, 9-28v power (only 1watt at 12v) and connect to your PC or plotter using the USB and NMEA0183 outputs. And if you are running out of NMEA ports, the 2RxPRO can also take in a NMEA feed at 4800 baud from another instrument, and multiplex the data in with the AIS data going off to your plotter - so you don't even need another NMEA port to install it!
The 2RxPRO features a very robust, professional-grade water-resistant metal case, and integral power and NMEA cables to make installation as easy as it gets!

For this, the new SCOUT incorporates an integral emergency radio beacon that couples to an on-board receiver, alarm and direction finding antenna. In an overboard emergency, the alarm is sounded immediately and the ship can be steered quickly and accurately back to the casualty, gaining valuable time that can save lives.
The lifejacket lies snug to the body and is comfortable to wear. The SCOUT 3D swim bladder has a third dimension in the form of two large triangular air cushions to provide a much stronger turning moment to roll you onto your back and to overcome the air pockets and heavy weight of foul weather clothing or dry suits.
An added benefit of these air cushions on the SCOUT 3D is that they can carry an emergency radio beacon much higher out of the water, thereby greatly enhancing the signal reliability.

Side-Power have sold radio remotes built on industry standard casings for many years. Using this experience, a brand new radio transmitter has been designed, incorporating customer needs and wishes. The new Side-power radio remote is focused on user-friendliness by ensuring optimal ergonomics, ease of use and a high safety level. It retrofits very easily with Side-Power thruster systems and most windlasses.
A key feature is the clear boat shape in the design, eliminating the chance of misunderstanding directions when moving freely on your boat. It incorporates the Side-Power unique safety features protecting against unintended activation of thrusters. The illuminated buttons with soft lighting makes use of the remote at night convenient - and it comes with both a snap-in holder and a neck strap with snap-off safety.
The new shape of the remote and holder enables troublefree operation of the remote whilst in the holder - it doubles up as an additional fixed manouvering station. The new Radio remote control is waterproof, has large rubber buttons and the defined ridges between the buttons makes it easy to use without looking. Rubber pads on the back prevents it from sliding around, leaving scratches on polished surfaces.
