Armstrong Positive Floatation Outboard Brackets are among the finest outboard mounting systems in the industry … setting the standard for outboard propulsion worldwide. Armstrong Brackets move the outboards aft and raise the engine running position, allowing the prop to get a better “bite”. This results in reduced time to plane, increased top speed, and better fuel economy.
Additional Features…
• Transom angle match
• Custom colors
• Choice of platform width
• Built in ladder mounts
• Underwater Lights
• Kicker engine bracket on platform
• Bracket built to transom shape
• Flotation chambers sized for extra buoyancy
• Bracket bottom matched to hull deadrise

Bob's Machine Shop has just launched a new line of jack plates for smaller boats with lower-hp engines. The lightweight Mini Jacs feature a smaller footprint and, depending on the model, will handle engines up to 50 hp.
High-performance boaters use jack plates for more speed, better fuel economy and improved boat handling. In recent years, jacks have also become popular with fishermen and pleasure boaters who operate in shallow water.
Mini Jacs come in three models: The standard version weighs 28 pounds and has same dimensions as BMS's regular jack plates. It fits the standard BIA bolt pattern and provides 6" of hydraulic lift.
Mini Jacs also come in a narrower width for smaller boats with clamp-on style motors. This model weighs 25 pounds but still provides 6" of lift.
The smallest Mini Jac weighs only 18 pounds and works well with small, Gheenoe-style boats with clamp-on engines. This model supplies 4" of hydraulic lift and handles engines up to 40 hp. All Mini Jacs come with a 5-1/2" setback.
Bob's Machine Shop's jack plates use hi-tech bearings that will not absorb water. They also feature automobile-type grease fittings - a unique feature among jack plates. All BMS hydraulic pumps are mounted inside the boat to lower the overall weight on the transom and minimize exposure, especially in saltwater.
The Mini Jacs come with a lifetime warranty.

Bob's Machine Shop standard line of jack plates. 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 inch setbacks. All offering a minimum of 7.5 inches of lift above the standard mounting position. Rated for a Max of 300 HP, V6 engines, the standard Jac plate line is able to handle almost every outboard.
Jack Plates allow access to shallow water, increase the speed of the boat, increase fuel economy, and increase acceleration. By setting the engine back further, you are putting your propeller into cleaner water, increasing prop bite. Also the water uncompresses from under the transom, allowing you to raise the motor and reduce drag (increasing speed)

Extreme series Jack Plates from Bob's Machine Shop are made to handle 350HP engines including V8's. Also great for offshore and race applications.
Allows access to shallow water, increases boat performance and increases fuel economy.

Engineers at Bob's Machine Shop have developed a product that all boaters can use.
With a maximum engine rating of 40 hp, BMS's hydraulic kicker jackplate provides slow-speed power for cruisers, auxiliary power for sailboats and trolling power for fishermen.
Sailboat skippers will appreciate the jackplate's ability to reduce engine drag while under sail.
For economy, powerboaters can fire up their kicker for no-wake zones, slow cruising or when navigating shallow backwaters. And, the jack provides anglers with the option of using just one motor for trolling and main power.
The kicker jack is built with 6061 T-6 aircraft-grade aluminum to ensure high strength with minimal weight. All of Bob's Machine's hydraulic jackplate motors are mounted inside the boat for long life and easy maintenance.
An optional wireless control kit allows the skipper to operate the jackplate remotely with a small key fob from anywhere on the boat.
Retail price of Bob Machine Shop's patent pending, hydraulic kicker jackplate is $1,199. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty on the structure.

Normally, motor mounts are designed to accept static, vertical loads with various hardness of rubber to attain the desired critical dampening ratio and static deflection. With all the power of propeller thrust pushing on the engine and motor mounts, the rubber part of the motor mount, by itself, has to be hard to withstand these horizontal, shear forces while maintaining the critical alignment between the engine and shaft.
In many instances, there are more pounds of propeller thrust to contend with than the static, vertical pounds of engine and gear weight. Under this condition, the very hard motor mounts afford little isolation of the engine vibration to the hull.
To isolate the engine vibration to the hull with truly soft mounts, either expensive thrust bearing assemblies must be used, or -- Evolution Motor Mount Compensators (EMMC). The EMMC will handle all the forward and reverse thrust on the engine and allow for softness in mounts that have eliminated up to 80 percent of the engine vibration to the hull. This alone has reduced sound levels on board a vessel by as much as 15 decibels. Soft mounts coupled to the EMMC positively change the environment aboard any vessel immediately on starting the engine(s).
With a "free floating" engine on soft mounts, it is recommended that all connections to the engine be flexible, i.e., flexible shaft coupling, exhaust coupling, etc. We would be happy to quote on flexible shaft couplings.
