Yanmar's engines last and last. They are designed and built to do just that. Every detail is taken Into account. Take for instance the stainless steel exhaust/water mixing elbow: a guarantee for long life and corrosion resistance. This tough engine is built to perform. The turbocharger with wastegate and inlercooler improves acceleration on the higher output model even further. This is best-in-dass diesel power from Yanmar.

The basic design
The D6 is a 6-cylinder marine diesel engine with common rail high-pressure fuel injection, double overhead camshafts, 4 valves per cylinder, turbocharger and aftercooler. The displacement is 5.5 litres. It is extremely compact considering its large swept volume, high output and unique marine torque. Together with a large swept volume and the EVC system (Electronic Vessel Control), this results in world-class diesel performance, combined with low emissions.
|
|
In designing the engines, consideration was given to their intensive use and to the desirability of easy and simple maintenance. These engines feature individual cylinder heads and wide inspection doors in the block, which makes access to the inside parts of the engine easy, and shortens the service time during maintenance and repair processes.
This series comprises six and eight cylinder in-line engines as well as twelve and sixteen cylinder 60º V-bank engines.
- Reliable
- Efficient
- Economic maintenance
- Environmental-friendly

The D6-280s large displacement and the latest technology throughout give exceptional performance combined with low fuel consumption and emission levels that complies with emission requirements introduced in the EU and USA from 2006. The engine has common rail fuel injection system, double overhead camshafts, 4 valves per cylinder, turbocharger and aftercooler. Together with a large swept volume and the EVC system (Electronic Vessel Control), this results in world-class diesel performance, combined with low emissions.

Stepping up to the Hammerhead series, which is designed for maximum in performance, looks and durability. This engine will outperform most Bigblock gasoline V8's and at the same time leave you fuel for another day at sea. The Hammerhead Series is DieselPower at it's best. All Hammerhead engines are fitted with the High Performance Stanadyne Marine DB4 mechanical fuel injection pump.

After years of development Marine Power proudly introduced its new line of diesels in 1992. Like all Marine Power engines, the diesels quickly made believers out of even the most discriminating commercial and sport fisherman skippers around.
Lightweight, compact, powerful, efficient, dependable and surprisingly affordable, the Marine Power 6.5 Diesels bring traditional diesel reliability with extraordinarily low fuel consumption to pleasure and work boats in the 25 to 35 ft. class.
