Initially designed for Alaskan fisherman, Luggers are well known by commercial and pleasure craft operators for their long life and smooth, quiet operation.
The L1064T1 features a mechanical fuel delivery system and liquid cooled turbocharger for enhanced fuel effeciency. Ideal fo rthe commercial operator who runs full-throttle for long periods, the L1064T1 is designed for long hours and simplified maintenance.
All the 1064 diesel engines are US EPA Tier II compliant with an in-line design tht makes them perfect repower engines for older in-line six cylinder machines.
The Lugger 1064 (106 mm bore-4 cylinder), 4.5 liter, diesels have heavy-duty tractor blocks. This high torque design provides a strong foundation; but a marine engine is only as good as its marinization. A Lugger's marinization is cast iron tough. The expansion tank and liquid-cooled exhaust manifold are cast iron. Some engines only use bypass water to cool their manifolds. Lugger integrates the two pass manifold into the cooling system main stream to assure even temperature control and to eliminate hot spots that can stress metal components.

The 6.8L six-cylinder engine is offered as either a propulsion or gen drive engine in either keel cooled or heat exchanger configurations. The engines are either turbocharged, non-aftercooled, turbocharged with jacket water aftercooling or turbocharged with sea water aftercooling. The propulsion engines feature constant power to 400 rpm below rated speed, making these engines an excellent choice for launches, work boats, trawler yachts, and patrol craft.

Yanmar's engines last and last. They are designed and built to do just that. Every detail is taken Into account. Take for instance the stainless steel exhaust/water mixing elbow: a guarantee for long life and corrosion resistance. This tough engine is built to perform. The turbocharger with wastegate and inlercooler improves acceleration on the higher output model even further. This is best-in-dass diesel power from Yanmar.

MD170 Barracuda is a true naturally aspirated diesel engine and with it’s 6.5 litres and 170hp the engine will take you twice around the world and back without hesitating. A Barracuda that is serviced regularly is almost indestructible and has the power and performance of a 230hp gasoline V8. Engines are standard equipped with freshwater cooling.
We can deliver all our engines as a compleat engine/sterndrive Mercruiser X diesel package, that includes all hydraulics, extension harness, instrumentpanel, bellhousing, coupler, engine mounts, ownersmanual, etc.

Heart-thumping acceleration and throttle response...the ability to make the most of every precious drop of fuel...unsurpassed reliability and durability...minimal smoke and noise... This is what you look for but rarely find in a diesel engine. This is precisely what you get with the Cummins
MerCruiser 1.7 MI 120. A remarkably compact design without sacrificing performance. In fact, this engine generates more power and accelerates faster than anything else in its class. You can thank the turbocharger, aftercooler and exclusive direct-injection system for its impressive horsepower and torque. Meanwhile, the standard closed-cooling system contributes to the engine's overall durability and corrosion resistance.
