Your suggestions for improvement:
A boat circuit breaker automatically cuts off current flow in case of overload or other malfunction. Models offered on NauticExpo are for use on recreational rather than commercial craft.
ApplicationsThese devices are found on every sail- or powerboat with an electrical system.
TechnologiesThere are breakers designed for AC or DC, and for systems of different voltage: 12, 24, 110, 220, etc. The trip value in amperes is indicated on the housing. This value should be slightly higher than that of the overall system in the case of a main breaker, or that of the particular devices it serves in the case of a dedicated breaker. Breaker types include thermal, magnetic, thermal magnetic and differential.
How to chooseA differential breaker is recommended for 110/220 V circuits. For wiring systems supplying the entire vessel, a ready-made panel with a sufficient number of breakers should be considered. Such an installation is more reliable and more economical in the long term than one with fuses. Consult local standards and requirements, which vary from country to country.
