The charge regulator CRM is especially suitable for marine applications. It is completely sealed and thus effectively protected against the marine environment.
The regulator has two separate outputs, which can be used to charge two battery sets separately (eg. starter battery and service battery on a yacht). The two outputs can be connected together if only a single battery shall be charged. More than two separate battery sets are charged by wiring additional diode units between the batteries. For adaption to different types of batteries the charging voltage can be adjusted in a range of +/- 20 % |

The CR30W is a sophisticated charge regulator for 12 V or 24 V DC small wind applications based on a special micro-controller.
The regulation is done by a shunt load (power resistors) which is switched by the regulator to prevent overcharging. Therefore the wind generator can be connected directly to the battery and never runs unloaded.
The micro controller together with a smart electronic circuit provides high-efficiency charging technology combined with a reduction in the number of electronic components. Therefore excellent battery treatment is now available at reasonable cost and with outstanding reliability even at tough environmental conditions.

Battery chargers/charging converters – always a full battery
Starter batteries and leisure batteries are designed for different tasks. Starter batteries, in order to start the engine, must initially supply a high current level and will then serve as an energy buffer with smaller partial cycles. Supply or leisure batteries, by contrast, are charged and discharged at lower current levels for longer periods of time, which means they are subjected to significantly higher loads. Correct charging is the key to success. With a complete range of IU- and IU0U battery chargers, WAECO offers optimum charging technology for gel and AGM supply batteries. In each case, the consumed battery capacity should be replaced by a full battery charge. Even after longer journeys, with additional charge from the generator, the battery should immediately be connected to the power supply! Alternatively, you can use a PerfectCharge IU charging converter. These units guarantee optimal charging during the drive. How powerful a battery charger has to be depends on the battery capacity. As a rule of thumb, the charging current of the battery charger should be at least 10% of the battery capacity. |
|
When setting up the battery part of your 12 or 24V system, the required capacity and battery type are not the only things you need to consider: the vital components around the battery are at least as important for the charge current supply, ease of maintenance and extra safety.
Mastervolt provides you with all the necessary high quality items to perfectly round off your installation, guaranteed worldwide. |
