An arch fender is a single rubber piece mounted on a vertical dock face to absorb the impact of a docking or departing ship.
Such fenders are found at Ro-Ro and passenger terminals, barge and freighter docks, as well as at small boat harbors and on piers and pontoons.
These devices are made of a single piece of rubber or ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE).
Fender size will depend on the dimensions of the vessels using the dock. It comes in standard sizes, but some manufacturers can supply custom models.
