ApplicationsThis instrument can be used to measure wind speed and direction on any type of vessel including merchant ships, yachts, fishing boats and pleasure craft.
TechnologiesSuch devices use a variety of technologies. The most common is the windmill anemometer, which has a directional vane and rotating cups to measure wind speed. Other anemometers use ultrasound.
How to chooseThe sensor must be compatible with the readout device. It also must be carefully positioned so that the vessel's superstructure interferes as little as possible with wind flow around the sensor.
