The Online Boating and Maritime Exhibition
An aluminum center console boat has an open hull with a steering console on the centerline. The console holds the steering wheel, instruments and engine controls.
These boats are widely used by maritime professionals and all those needing a sturdy vessel. Aluminum hulls are common in the fishing industry and can be beached without harm.
Despite its massive appearance, an aluminum vessel is often lighter than a similar fiberglass craft. Aluminum offers a wider choice of outfitting and layout because configuration is not determined by a mold. Modifications can be made even after construction. Most have an outboard motor.
Choice of size and amenities will depend on the number of people the boat will carry and on its intended use.
